Hi!
I just got my pegII/g3 and I wanted to register with http://support.morphos-team.net ... but I need a serial number? where can I find it? no stickers on the board, back of the board or cpu card... I have the "SuperBundle" software package, but does it need a serial too? how can I register to get the updates?
thanks! :-D

Normally every Pegasos II has 2 stickers, one on the board and one on the cpu card. Only the Pegasos I had no stickers. But if you don't have any, leave the fields empty and try.

I will email genesi about that... :(
I have another lame prob now... I am trying to install mos. I use PegasosBook 2.2 for instructions.
on ide1 I have master the HD and on IDE2 master a dvdr... I try an "ls /pci/ide/cd / and I get error: no such device...???
then I ls and I see I have PCI@C0000000 and PCI@80000000
I then try to boot from there (replace PCI with PCI@x0000000) and I get a "no filesystem recognised"
BAH! :madashell:

oooohhhhhhh
that's GREAT! absolutelly great. excellent.
the huge marvel chipset chip just burned. it also has a bright-red spot... dead . kaput.
I must be one of the few lucky users, to get excited by a new machine and quickly fall in the depths of sorrow.
:madashell: :madashell: :madashell:
that burning smell....
-
wtf? I have never heard of a dead marvel chip. what have you done?
-
lots of people are surprised, even the Genesi guy...
I did nothing, it just developed a hotspot (I thought it was a led, so bright!) and smelled.
and that's the end of my pegasos journey, short and full of doom.
I didn't even boot to MOS damnit! :madashell: :madashell: :madashell:

A friend of mine burnt his G4 in Peg2. Just send an email to bPlan and they for sure will repair your machine.
-
what is their site?
genesi said they cannot repair or even sell me another replacement mobo...

Don't worry, it's gonna be fine.
To cheer you up I can tell you that he burnt his G4 card twice and once his mobo and each time he sent his stuff to bPlan and it returned repaired.
-
I hope so....
I didn't even get the chance to use it! :boohoo:

That's ultra unlucky mate :( I really do feel for ya..
Sucks when that happens :(
-
OMG!
I feel for you Keropi - and I know that smell. First time I smelt it was when I killed a Blizzard PPC by feeding 12V into the fan header instead of 5v (Doh!).
That sinking feeling. Oh god, I feel sick just thinking about it. I hope it all works out OK for you.
Regards
Rich

Hi,
you did a short circuit, or you put a bad peripheral (dying PSU or CGX card or CDrom).
What was your graphic card ?
