Title: 1230scsi.device
Post by: golem on June 14, 2007, 10:29:07 PM
Anyone know what the lastest version of this device is?
I have 8.1 but it sometimes causes lockups and FBlit doesn't like it in my opinion.

I have 8.5, but I don't think you can upgrade it without burning a new chip. There's a software package to bring even older versions up to 8.1, but it might be hard-coded to that version. Maybe it is possible to use with a newer file? See here (http://aminet.net/package/biz/patch/SoftSCSI).

I have upgraded my 1230scsi.device to V8.5 with software. More exactly with Blizkick, but I can't see why SoftSCSI wouldn't work either with that.

There's at least V8.5 rom at http://jpv.wmhost.com/A1234.ROM , but if anyone knows if there's more official place or newer version around, please tell.

Before upgrading the rom, I had some problems with certain CD-writers etc.. upgrading helped.

Thanks for that. I had heard of a mythical 8.5 but couldn't find it on the net.   :-)

Nothing mythical, my 2060 has it as 2060scsi.device v8.5 - probably the name is the only difference.

Probably edited a double-post.
