Hi Everyone
I read somewhere within the forum about an A4000 with 3.1 Roms installed taking longer to boot than an unmodified A4000, but now cannot find the link. Can anyone confirm this is the case just for my own sanity? Or have I got this wrong?
Thanks in advance

3.1 roms take a bit longer to give the harddisk a bit more time to spin up.

With a drive on the IDE chain there's not a big difference. However if you do not have an IDE drive and do not use an "IDE killer" the 3.1ROM adds 30sec delay waiting for a noneexisting IDE drive before continue to try boot from a different device such as SCSI or Floppy.
