I've lurked here for so long it only seemed polite to say Hi.
Due to randomly aquiring a Microvitek M1438S monitor I have been forced to revive my A1200HD 030/50Mhz/64MB.
For the moment I've just been using it for classic gaming. I'm a BlitzMax (http://www.blitzmax.com) programmer. For those who don't know BlitzMax is an Object-Orientated Basic by Mark Sibly the creator of BlitzBasic, very nice it is too. My Amiga is proving most useful for research purposes in my foray into the indie/casual games market.
I'm looking forward to tweaking my Workbench and finding some other novel and practical uses for it. Any suggestions? It would be a shame to see it back in the loft.
So, again hello and many thanks to the A.org team and members who have helped me not forget the Amiga.

AmiBlitz (http://www.blitz-2000.co.uk/) is the latest Amiga version of Blitz Basic since it was open-sourced by the authors. Maybe that would interest you in coding some simple games for the A1200. BlitzMax it isn't, but it should get you started.
What I've been doing lately is trying to port classic Amiga software to SDL (http://libsdl.org) in C so that it will work on the next-generation Amigas as well as other platforms.
My current projects include Total Chaos (http://aminet.net/game/strat/TotalChaosAGAr6.lha) and Mattathias Basic (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mattathias/) (a sequel to AmosPro).

I think I'll skip blitz and use C/C++, allthough the AmigaOS api is virtually foreign to me.
I'll be sure to check out your projects soon.
