Found on eBay:
"VINTAGE GAMING SOFTWARE by Lucasfilm designed for use with the Commodore Amiga series of computers as pictured. This software is UNTESTED as it is STILL SEALED as shown."
link (http://cgi.ebay.com/SEALED-Battle-of-Britain-Game-Software-for-Amiga_W0QQitemZ250125112303QQihZ015QQcategoryZ4598QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
I will make sure to avoid this seller at all costs. It looks like one of those food sealing machines was used to "preserve" the used boxed software and try to pass it off as original new and unopened merchandise.

It's sealed with a ziplock bag! That's still sealed, right? ;-)
-
Has anyone ever seen anything on eBay marked "Rare" that
actually was?
-
Ehmmm... How come that this Org. sealed object is dirty on the inside ? *LOL* He must really think we all are idiots *LOL* So ! Still someone who want's to by some turtle 080 accelerators from me :roflmao:
-
Heh, bent and stained. Let's see what EBay says =).
-
That's a very poor presentation of an item all right. I guess they think there's a sucker some where who will fall for it. If the game is "still sealed" then how did the bar code get stained? Obviously it's been opened in the past and resealed.... badly. What's inside now, any thing? And by "fnie condition", I guess they mean it's fine that the box has been crushed once or twice and a corner or two has been split... sheesh.

software is UNTESTED
This item, while tested as working, is sold on an "as-is" basis
This guy doesn't know if he is coming or going!! :crazy:
Pete :-)

In the UK I used to buy my Amiga games in boxes. That was the nice thing about them - not in these plastic "jewel" cases that they use now, but good old boxes. Sometimes with cardboard sleeves. But never sealed in plastic bags. The only bit that would be in a plastic bag would be the floppy disks and manual - inside the box!

Yes, but I collect rare wargames and RPGs from the 70's so I tend to keep up on how rare they are. ;-)

me:
I bought this game when it first came out. It was never sold with a plastic cover like that. Can you tell me how it go water damage inside a never opened, sealed plastic bag? What are you trying to pull?
Typo is mine. :oops:
him, 13 minutes later:
About all I'm interested in saying to you is to SHOVE IT !! You've been baaned from my auctions as well.
Typo is his. :-P

@weirdami,
I hope you reported him on eBay.
-
Hilarious.
Sealed at grandma Ouche's Amiga kitchen with the willy waller kitchen wrapper 2000 bought on TV for 10 payments of only 29.99.
Wonder if he'll get any bids?
-
@amigadave
I looked over the email I got from him real quick and I didn't see any reporty links. That was as much effort as I put into it. :-) I think probably other people here have already reported him anyway, from the looks of it.
-
Banned from his auctions, what a crushing blow. :lol:
I think everyone here has pretty much banned themselves from his auctions. :roll:
-
@weirdami
You've been baaned from my auctions as well.
You should thank him. Now you don't need to remember not to buy anything from him. :-D

I just asked him this:

And if it is tested, I'd love to know how you tested it without breaking that well known game-box-sealing method, the plastic bag!

In Finland, most shops kept the game disks in separate place behind locks. They also had big "All boxes are empty" -signs (in other words, "nothing worth stealing")
So if any of the games WERE originally in plastic bags, they were have been opened by the time they "hit the shelves"

Looks like I'm banned too :lol:

His feedback however is quite clean.

Poor Josephine actually put a bid in for this item. I hope she knows what she is actually getting and is not disappointed.
-
Why not send her a message pointing her towards this thread? :-D
-
I already did! :-D

The really sad thing is that isn't at all odd for eBay. It's more like business as usual. Complaining to eBay like spitting in the wind.
I do much better at "shows", craigslist and yard sales(!!)
