Title: FA: Pegasos II full system
Post by: motorollin on June 10, 2007, 11:04:09 AM
I had some interest in my PegII after the eBay auction went sour, but nothing has come of any of those offers. So it's back on eBay, this time with a BIN price.

Link (http://tinyurl.com/2r2gob)

Please, unlike the last person who won the auction, only bid if you know what you're bidding on :-)

If I didn't have an A4000 motherboard and a PC PSU to replace then I'd "Buy It Now" heh :)

But I do, so I have no money for the next forever..

And the last of my cash is tied up on buying a DraCo system :D

Unless your getting the Draco for some collector thing i would think you would be MUCH better off with thee Pegasos. You can run just as many if not more Amiga apps on it.

In general, yes, that is the plan...

However, I am also getting it 'cause I'm curious and wanna see what they do.. and I've wanted one for a long time :)

apart that with even 12 pegs, you can't do NLE while Dracos does. (thats the only reason to purchase one)

oops sorry Moto, but...

Non Linear Editor system (audio/video editing/titling/efx etc).

The only reason Draco where designed.

edit- "only" is a bit excessive... replace it with "main"

Oh ok. Well if that's what he wants to do, then he needs to get the Draco. I would rather BinoX was happy with whatever he buys. :-)

If I magically come up with lots of money before the auction ends (doubtful)

Then I'll get it :)

After money matters the only limit I have on what I can get is what I can convince my fianceƩ to let me have :)

So far she's not said no to anything :) Even when I brought home the ultra sized case to put my A1200 in..

The Pegasos II would probably fit in that case along with your A1200 :lol:

lol :)

Yeah, probably... :D

Although the side without the motherboard holds the CD drive, hard drive, power supply and a spare copy of workbench 3.1 and an OS3.9 emergency boot disk.. lol

Awesome :lol: When I had my A1200, which had all SCSI drives, I used to have a flash drive connected to the IDE interface to stop the startup delay (this was before I made my custom 3.9 ROMs). I had a compact flash card stuck inside the case with 3.9 installed on it so I can boot from it in emergencies :-)

For some reason my scsi.device has died a terrible death and doesn't show up any more...

So there's no delay... heh  (I don't know why)

I'd quite like some custom 3.9 roms... How do you go about making some?

I'd use BlizKick instead and this excellent guide made by Nickman

Want a DraCo? There are still 2 for sale in the Netherlands (at least the a is still there). IIRC the seller is asking 450 or 500 Euro for both.

You can E-mail the seller by clicking the "Neem contact op met adverteerder" button.

BinoX my friend, unless u have a specific job for them, I don't see any point in getting one! it will never be trully amiga compatible and it depends on lots of patches to run os3.x ...

@McVenco

Thanks, but I already have a source for one.. I'm paying a little bit per month so I can still afford to buy food and stuff for it.. lol

@keropi
I do have a purpose for it... although it'd be a bit hard to explain without you thinking "That's stupid".. lol..
So, it's probably easier if I just say I'm getting it 'cause it's an unusual piece of hardware that does (albeit hacked together) run Amiga OS :)

I'll probably do a bit of video editing on it too for novelty value :)
