Hello!
Today I've got a nice A3070. I want use it as a SCSI box because it is aesthetically perfect near the A3000!
Now I've installed an old Apple CD-ROM (speed 1x), but I would change it with a CD burner (Plextor, Yamaha, Teac...).
My question is: what it the RIGHT SCSI CD-R for my purpose? It should be MakeCD compatible and the bezel colour should match as closest as possible the A3000 one!
It is nice idea, isn't it? :-D
Thank you in advance!
Alex

I like the plextor. :-D

Plextor FTW, although LG is making good gear these days.

Plextor is always good :)
If you want an older writer though go for a Ricoh, they were the bast back in the day (by back in the day I mean the £500 2x drive I had on my PC.. lol)

Well... Plextor seems the best choice.
It was also my first burner, the great 8/4/32 IDE... it still works great!
Are all Plextor burners compatible with MakeCD?
-
Hi there!
I have used (and still use) 4 different scsi drives in my A3000: Plextor 12x10x32 model, Plextor 8x4x24 model, and TEAC 6x24 & 4x12 modelos
ALL 100% compatible with Make CD & BurnIT. Never had any single issue with them
Burnt 100´s of cds...
Hope my advice helps you
Regards
Sebastian

WHAT?? You've got a nice A3070 and you want to rip it apart?? Do you know how RARE these drives are???
Do yourself a favor; keep the A3070 intact and buy some no-no brand SCSI case !!
(Plextor's are nice, but also Pioneer slot in drives, specially DVD)

Don't worry, I mantain all original parts and I don't modify anything in an irreversible way.

Thank you for your help!
Could you give me some hints regarding how your cd units' color match with A3000?
