Hi all! ....
Recently my dear A1200 got infected with the Happy New Year 98 Virus. Which anti-virus app is the best one to use to safely remove it?
I've heard that VT-Schultz is the best one for Happy New Year, but I find it awkward to use as it's only available in German.
So could someone recommend a safe/good way to get rid of this crap once and for all?

Actually, any antivirus able to detect it and repair the infected file without deleting the file itself is good one.
I would try VirusCheckerII in combination with xvs.library

I've heard that most anti virus apps doesn't completely clean the files with this virus... does anyone else have any info? Else I might go with the suggestion.

I have used VirusZ to remove HNY98 viruses.. has worked for single files infected at least.
I had bigger mess when HNY98 first appeared, when no virus killer recognized it yet. I noticed the {bleep} with some scanner when it couldn't read the files correctly and then replaced all infected files with clean ones... was quite a job... and then week after it was added to virus killers :)
But in any case I'd try with some anti virus app which supports xvs.library and run couple of full scans even when all seems to be clean. I don't remember if the virus changes the filesize, but I'd also check it for cleaned files too...

You've heard wrong.
HNY 9x series linkviruses are trivial and any decent virus killer can remove them, without damaging the original files. VirusZ (http://www.vht-dk.dk/vhtdk/amiga/vz/vz.htm) is my favorite. Don't forget xvs.library (http://www.vht-dk.dk/vhtdk/amiga/xvs/xvs.htm).
