Title: Paralell port Scanner
Post by: swift240 on May 27, 2007, 11:21:09 AM
Does any one use a Scanner on there Amiga?
A Parallel port Scanner?
If so then what make was it, and what drivers did/do you use?

I have a ScanMagic parallel Scanner and so far cannot get any drivers for it.

TIA,

Mike.

Yes, I do. I bought it years ago, an Epson GT5000, cost £375! I use ImageFX but you have to get a special cable, an ASDG or something.

It`s worked flawlessy for years so I see no need to change, although USB scanners are cheap, plentiful and some are capable of being used on the Amiga. I wouldn`t go for a parallel one nowadys.

Search first for the software: Poseidon for the USB software, which tells you the scanner software (FXScan, I think) then the compatible scanners.

www.platon42.de is the poseidon homepage, IIRC.
