Title: A noobie Kickstart Rom question
Post by: m1sf1t on May 24, 2007, 05:58:53 AM
Hi Ppl

Just wondering if the CD32's 3.1 rom is patched specifically for the cd32? I couldnt get it to work on a 600 or 1200, apart from maybe a different pinout? thats all i could think.

Any links to rom vendors? don't mind looking out of Aus, my a600 3.5 hd project is coming along nicely, but i want to load something newer then 2.1

Thanks

I don't know about the pinout, but the contents of the ROMs is different to any other Amiga.

the KS is just a bunch of drivers and the OS-core made specifically for every amiga... the cd32 ks also has a cdrom driver, that cannot work in other models, or the a3000 has a scsi driver made for it only...

I doubt you could use a CD32 ROM with an A600 for many reasons.

Not least, AFAIK the CD32 ROM is 32-bit and the A600 requires a 16-bit one.

The CD32 ROM is just 16-bit as opposed to the 32-bit ROM set that the A1200/A4000 has.

I new it was a stupid question ;)

But,, it did work to a degree on the 1200 which amazed me since the success ive googled for is about 50/50

So, there are 3.1 roms available for the a600, i just need a link to who may supply these
