Title: Your first ever post

Do you remember your first ever post on amiga.org? I just found mine (under an old account) and the questions I asked were cringeworthy. The kind of questions I sometimes sigh over now - "how do I get a CD-ROM mounted? How do I format a hard drive? My A1200 pauses for a long time when I turn it on, is this normal?". I suppose we all start somewhere :-)

I had an A1200 up and running and messed up the harddisk. That is it went doing unpleasant things..... So this was the place I ran to in a panic.

Edit: Strangely I signed up somewhat sooner. But this is the oldest I could find and have some fainted memory of. Oh, well maybe I tinkered on my own before crying for help.

Unfortunately, yes. If I recall clearly, it was a question regarding bizzare behaviour of C++ exceptions in multithreaded code under StormC - the mechanism was not threadsafe it turned out (was obvious from the problem really). At least I think that was it.

My first ever post was a screenshot (and like all my posts, was posted using an Amiga 500). Surprisingly, that (embarrassingly old) screenshot is back to #1 in the Top 10. Not that it matters - the Top 10 is now meaningless thanks to some immature loser trashing all the ratings.

I think it's about time for my last ever post.

I'm sure I must have had a previuos account, because I owned a b1230iv long before I got hold of a 1240.

Looking at the subsequent posts, it all seems like a few weeks ago. God, time flies.

I seem to remember back then that Framiga was very active in advising on hardware issues, don't seem to see him about here as much these days.

I feel a bit noobish anyhow, as the post is OT in reply to an OT post... thankfully Karlos coconspired or I'd pack my bags and delete my account right now... :-D

Obviously I'd recently seen 'The Matrix'...

I've been lurking here for quiet a long time, before deciding to create an account and post something. Here's my 1st post (http://www.amiga.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2256).

Many threads don't exist any more... What happened to them? Changed name or lost forever?

I found my first post a while back... but I reported it in another thread... Anyway, it was just after the great A.org reboot, and I was ranting about how lame the PPC is and how much better the x86 is... some things never change :-D
