I owned a new Amiga 3000T in 1992 or so. Sold it in 1993 or so after the announcement that C= was going under.
Now, I'm looking to get back into an Amiga. What are my options for buying an Amiga nowdays? Are new Amigas even being produced?
What can I expect in regard to hardware, compatibility with wireless internet capabilities (have a wireless router at home), etc.?
U.S resident.
Thank you,
Mike

Amiga, Inc. has announced two new computers! In A500 and A2000 style if you will! See Amiga.com for more info! ;)
OK I would not hold my breath, but if you want to get back into Retro Amiga, then do it. I have about a dozen of 'em and love them. I would recommend Craigslist, and ebay to get you started. Good luck!

start off with WinUAE... then see what you want to do w/the Amiga. Do you want a games machine? Get a A500. If you want high end.. Get a A3k w/a CV64 and a 040. If you can snag one...get a A4k. The A3k is the best Amiga evAr.

Rubbish!
I'm reliably informed that the Amiga 2000 is the best, and that Amiga 4000s are pieces of {bleep}.
Dave Hay-nee climbed a mountain where God, in the form of a burning bush, gave him the specs for the A2000. So sayeth the Doommiester.

I have to agree, the A2000 series computers are the flagship computers from Commodore. They are also very easy to aquire and are cheaper than the A3000! ;)

Dude get a 1200/1200T and put in a pcmcia card, with prism II drivers from aminet.net get a hold of ibrowse latest demo. the key vers. is like $80US!! read up about reset chip problems so getting online wont be a unpleasant. You'll also need genesis tcp to get on whether modem, or ethernet. This sys is the best way to go for modern like computing and you can add whatever devices you need. Use OS3.9 if you can and later get a cheap accel 040-060 to boost performace. Some games will work get them however, emulate the ones that don't or use whdload, provided you have the roms;)

After checking out WinUAE, I think an A1200 is your best bet. AGA and internal IDE controller are big pluses over a stock A500.
