hello all!
FIrst of all let me tell you that I'm new at this amiga world. I have recently bought a second hand Amiga1200 with 2mb ram and harddisk (I have also purchased The PCMIA CF Adaptor). I have to tell you that I'm very very impressed of the qualilty of the computer! :)
The problem is when I want to play an specific game called BANSHEE (come original with the package). The game says that it can be played with an A1200 with 2mb of ram, but once installed in the HD and runned, it aborts saying that there is not enough memory.
I've realised that in the upper part of the main window of the workbench (3.1) says 1.609.704 of memory. So why this loss of memory till 2.000.000???
thanks!!! :-) :-)

Welcome!
First let me explain the "loss" of memory. Obviously the OS needs memory to function! So the memory that is not available is already used by the system.
To boot Banshee from Workbench (that is the "desktop") you need more memory. You can however boot the game from floppy disks. That way the OS won't be loaded and all memory will be available to the game.

I have tested it now and it works the way you describe it.
I appreciate a lot your information.
thank you very much! I'm loving amiga! :-) :-) :-)
