Hi does anyone know with real3D v 1.3 to create a material that is based on a iff picture. And the parts of the picture than are black (or colour zero), are fully transparent, the other parts take on the colour of the actual picture.
I'm sure I've done this before, I thinks its to do with the 'No-0 Colour' button, or the 'Maptype' button, then selecting 'Special'.
Please help, Also does anyone know there I can get a later version of Real3D - is there an AGA version.
Thanks, Rick.

Guess no one uses real 3D then??

There was never a specific AGA version ever released. It was never needed as the program, even in its early days rendered in 24Bit (16.8 Million Colours)
The later versions supported some of the AGA Screen modes tho, yet this didnt put AGA on the Box.

Uhhh... too many decades since I last used Real3D 1.3 :) Can't remember sorry... but 1.3 is completely different than later versions. In 1.3 it's custom GUI, but 2.x-> has extremely configurable OS friendly GUI. Works fine with AGA and if I recall correctly, it also renders in ham8 etc...

Amiga Format cover CD 1 (June 1996, AF85) has both Real 3D 2.5 and 1.3 on it.
In the 2.5 docs it mentions that the green component of a transparency map controls the transparency. The greener, the more transparent. There aren't any docs with 1.3 but there's a transparency setting in the materials editor.

There's an obscure program called OBject Interface Junior. It feartures an IFF loader and a Real 3D saver, among other loaders & savers. It was published by Platin Computerservice , Steinhammerstr.117, 44397 Dortmund, Germany. I've got it & it's a bit quirky in its functionality.

The latest & last Amiga version was version 3.5. I purchased version 3.3 & bought the 3.5 upgrade from Anti-Gravity at the time. It renders nicely in HAM8 (AGA).

Could you repost your scan? I'd love to read up on it again.
Also, does anyone know if there is an archived iso copy of Amiga Format CD1? I'd love to get a copy of Real3D v2 as well.

Been a while since I tinkered with Real3D.. A friend of mine long ago used it quite a bit, I was learning Lightwave. I recall something about "Genlock Textures" that will make a solid polygon object have transparent areas, like chain link fence and latice.
