Title: Anyone else playing TotalChaos AGA?
Post by: rkauer on May 13, 2007, 04:09:04 AM
Hi ppl.

I wonder if another person in the planet are playing Total Chaos AGA.

Now is a new release, 6.41, much more noob friendly. More beautifull, too (than ooold versions).

I know the game is machine-ungry, but I play it very well in mine 1200/030@52MHz with 130Mb RAM.

For ppl who don't know what I'm talking about, there is the link for download (http://aminet.net/package/game/strat/TotalChaosAGAr6):-D

MEEEE.

I would play it all frikking day long
if I had human opponents.

Wanna get togheter
and play for 40 hours straight without sleep?
We can be 8 people in total.
(and perhaps some advicers or team leaders
on the sideline, because it can also be a team game)

We could also arrange large tournaments!
I would sign up on the spot!!

Poker is popular, but not that fun.
Total chaos would be extaticly fun with tournaments.

Check out the training missions!
They are hillarious!!
I cant not laugh when I load them,
even tho -I- made them.

I already knew 7 years ago that this game
was and would be awesome and had huge potential,
thats why I joined the development team back then.

All the (long) wizard animations
and like -70- percent of all
creature anims (and their variations),
spells, celleffects, and other miscellaneous gfx
is done by me over the years.

I have not received a penny from my work,
but money is -completely worthless-
compared to the fun and enjoyment this game has given me,
and I want to play it with YOU too!
LETS GET TOGHETER AND PLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYY
AAAAAAAALLLLLLLL NIIIIIIIGHT LOOOOOOOONG!!!!!!!!

This game NEVER gets boring!!!

If tournaments was to be a reality
there would probably have to be added a timelimit
on each of your turns.

like:
1-2 minutes on spellselection.
30 seconds on spellcasting.
and 1 minute on moving creatures,
so that if you have lots of creatures
you have to think fast or be selective
of which ones you move.
Coz it aint anyones fault
that you have summoned too many creatures. :)

If you come to Texas I will play you for 24 hours straight.

Only a true fanatic maniac would play 40 hours straight.:-o  :-D

Some of your files are from 1999 so I think 8 years.

@TiredOfLife & rkauer

Did you watch the tutorials in The Newbie Edition?

Did they help you any?

Are you still a n00b?  :-D

Do you play on AVM or ARM? (Amiga Virtual Machine or Amiga Real Machine?)

I read the tutorials when I start to play Total Chaos a year ago. The tutorial is very good, well writed and explain almost all (impossible to show all in a game with that size) aspects/spells/creatures/etc of the game.

Sometimes I read it inside the game, too (that's what I call noob-friendly:-D).

I play it ARM, of course. Almost everyday (eheh, true is EVERYDAY, no exceptions).

I don't think I'm a n00b anymore, I need to try my skills against other human players, not only versus computer.

Hmmm this game sounds good. Does it support multiplayer over the net?

No I didn't.
Terrible for not reading instructions.
Might have a look tonight to see if I am missing anything.
Seemed to be doing ok at the mo.
Playing it on a A1200.

Not yet, but perhaps soon.

@TiredOfLife

Watching the tutorials is not really "reading instructions".
It is more like "watching the game demonstrate itself to you inbetween cracking jokes at you". :-)
Ok, technically there is some reading but this is only temporary until someone volunteers to do the speech narration.

There is an actual instruction manual.
But nobody has ever read it.  :-)

Hey! I've read it!

But nothing compares to use the software, after. Yes, there is little mistakes on some spell descriptions.

Like the "armour" one: says you'll get 1/3 of the actual life force of the character, but instead it gives 20 points of life to it! Much better than if the character have only 10 lf and the spell gives more 3 points, only.:-D

Or maybe I'm just a bad english reader....

I have changed the Armour spell to say "...adds 20 points..."
NOW FIXED.

If you find any other mistakes then I will fix them in a jiffy.  :-)

Ok. I will edit the description here, too.

Or I'll wait for the next version, maybe with a Brazilian Portuguese version and some other contributions.;-)

There is another thing:

I've noticed some ppl complaining about the size of the /music drawer (something like 15 Mb, if I remember right).

Hey, more music is never enough! Playing this stupendous game for more than six months and you'll get bored with the music.

Please, mr. Conwell, add more and more music and .8svx to this marvelous game.
