Title: Kickstart 3.1 roms?
Post by: psyco on May 11, 2007, 10:38:09 AM
I have just got my anti static gear on and opened up the a1200,Looking at the chips is making me think they are the same as the 1s i'm putting in.
Are there any Physical differences as i dont have workbench loaded to do a show config.

Yep! That is exactly what I am looking at inside my AMIGA A1200 Desktop which has 3.1 ROMS. If you switch on with no hard drive connected you will get an insert disk prompt with '3.1 ROM 40.068' on the screen  :-)

You'll be able to flog em no problem.

How the hell did you not know that you had them?

I got my OS 3.9 with kickstart 3.1 roms so i thought i would get them in, Today i opened up the Amiga to find that it seems they are all ready installed.

WOW

When i bought the A1200 it had no description of anything inside it ,It was just sold as A1200 with mouse and power pack.
When i first got it i put a coin in the back to lift the flap and found it had a ram exspantion card :)
