Post by: McVenco on May 10, 2007, 08:13:08 PM
Golden Gate 486 Card (http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=013&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=230124373817&rd=1&rd=1)

Damn, look at that price. You could almost buy a whole truckload of real 486 machines for that money! :-o

You might be wrong,

A complete 486 in black minitower (with MHz LCD screen and turbo button) with black keyboard and mouse went for 500 dollars in April.

Golden Gates are cool hardware but they take up to much Zorro space if you want to run ISA cards and the external monitor switcher is huge with lots of external cables. But I guess coolnes has its price.

That must've been some very special piece of machinery then.

Regular 486 machines can be bought for 5 euro over here, including monitor.
