Title: Install Blizzard 2060, help requested!
Post by: tradax on May 07, 2007, 01:55:52 PM
Hello, I'm in aim to install the above accelerator on my Amiga 2000; I'm a bit confused about the fact the blizzard software and 68060 libs have to be installed before put the card in the computer, but how it's possible to install the software if the hard disk is connected to the board itself?!? My A2000 doesn't have any SCSI controller apart the one on the Blizzard, so how I can install the driver and libs WITHOUT the board? If I disable the board with the "0" key also the SCSI controller is disabled, any hints? Sorry to be so "newbie"!

I think you can boot it without startup-sequence (assign env: etc; loadwb endcli ) and then copy the libraries to Libs:  Without the libs setpatch may freeze the machine if tried with a normal boot.

Hmm I haven't done this myself (not having an 060!) but I think it should work.

1) Make copy of workbench floppy disk
2) install 060 libs/software on copy of workbench, delete some unnecessary stuff if you need to make space
3) Install Blizzard and hard disk in a2000
4) Boot off workbench floppy with 060 libs
5) Partition/prepare hard disk as required
6) Install workbench onto harddisk using unmodified workbench disks
7) install 060 libs/software onto harddisk

and that should be all fine and working!
