Anyone know why my PPC all of a sudden is showing up as 0 (zero) Mhz? :< It can't be a cooling problem (I have two 12v fans blowing right on top of it + massive heatsink). Can this be fixed or is my PPC dead? Maybe just the oscillator just went dead for no reason? Here is the output from whichamiga:

Have you changed the mediator jumper settings recently? My Apollo 1240 shows zero mhz and zero fast ram with CONFIG open. Closed and all is well.
-
I had that jumper open and I closed it like you suggested. No dice so far.. I'm fiddling with WarpOS settings to see if anything there might be afu.
-
I doubt your ppc is dead. Run some PPC software and check. Like the WarpOS demo.

The demo crashes my machine. I can run, for example, Imagine 5.17, and it can "detect" the PPC in the "about.." requester. But thats as far as I get. As soon as I try to do a render that actually uses the PPC, it crashes. Same with Hollywood, AmigawriterPPC, MoovidPPC, Fantastic Dreams.. Not sure what happened.. Either way, this sucks.
-
if you're running the original P5 cooling fan replace it immediately!!!
-
oh man... if it crashes on ppc usage and u have not changed any software recenlty, then the ppc is dead... I had this too, machine booted OK, sometimes even decoded the backdrop, but when u tried anything ppc it just crashed..
-
That sounds like a dead ppc indeed, only things left to try is a clean install on a second boot partion or try the ppc in another A1200 and see if warpos works then.
I've been so lucky once that my mobo got fried partially by lightning and the ppc card survived!
Hope ya get it working again, coz the ppc is what makes your classic miggy fun.
edit: @keropi, recognise that my ppc died in a similar way

Dead quartz ?
Corrupt libs ?
Use the lastest GREX flash with a cold boot, all harddrive disconnected (data+power), it will show you the status of your PPC.
It can also come from your PSU !
-
pparently it isn't dead after all! This is the output from various tools provided with WarpOS (warpstate, showinfo, stat, etc..). Everything here is saying the PPC is ok.. at least I think so? BTW, my PPC applications started working after I typed "dcon". The only "problem" I'm having now is with whichamiga. It still shows only the 68060, no PPC. Why would that be? Also, scout crashes when I query the "system" button so I'm not able to tell whether Scout sees the PPC side or not.
