Title: WTB: A4000D Floppy, the nonstandard height type
Post by: ravnen on May 04, 2007, 02:48:37 PM
And it needs to be white :)

Im putting together a new a4000d, and I got hold of this beautifull front for my cabinet, as white as can be, but the only standard a4000d floppy drive I have lacks a frontplate.

Or if you do have a spare (yeah right) coverplate that will allow me to use a standard hight floppy drive, well thats even better, since Amigakit sells new drives.

This amiga is buildt with love and I want it to look perfect. I even downgraded the accelerator, so it would match whats on the front :) (well I just swapped with my current a4000, but anyway :)
And speaking of this, it has the infamous A3640 card now, with some of the capacitors mounted the wrong way. So now I need to heat up the solder iron, God I love amiga :P

Make sure you check the caps on the A3640 with a volt meter to verify polarity. As I recall the silk screening on some of the the boards was incorrect also.
