BBRV Blog (http://bbrv.blogspot.com/)
We think that Amiga is really trying to use AmigaOS as the base for a Smartphone/Mobile Device Virtual Machine that runs across multiple platforms, with a primary focus on Microsoft devices (why else would you buy one of the primary vendors of decent Windows CE software out there, with a track record of delivering software that made CE extremely functional with low memory). The good news is even if we developed an ARM-based EFIKA our License Agreement would still be good. Isn't that right, Mr. the Judge? Stay tuned...

Ooooooooo, Three way lawsuit.
Definitely going to need Theater Style Butter Popcorn by the palatte.
Watch Amiga, Inc. say that the licence contract with Genesi is void as it was with the original Amiga, Inc. Which would have interesting repercussions on the Hyperion case. The entertainment value of all of this could go through the roof if BBRV is not just playing to the audience, as usual.
-
Wow! The account still works.
@Argo - playing the audience? Would that be like the last law suit? Or, maybe that would be like shipping the Pegasos/ODW or many more of the EFIKA? What is it? Could you be more specific?
Thanks!

It is worth noting that BBRV are still SELLING and PRODUCING in numbers the only PPC hardware available that could run OS4.
If people stopped suing each other and put their energies into marketing an existing hardware and software solution where everyone gets to benefit from revenues of hardware and software sales then we all would have been running OS4 months ago.
-
ARM based EFIKA would be *very* sweet.

@ BBRV
Wow - first post in nearly 2 years!
Welcome back ;-)

man, I wish I'd bought those shares in that popcorn company

@bbrv
Not really interested in your court room fantasies, let us know when your all legal :-)

Why post if you aren't interested? Obviously you are.

CannonFodder was a good game :-)

I'm very happy with my Genesi Pegasos G4 running MorphOS and many OS4 applications thanks to the MOS AOS4 emulator! :-D Very pleased indeed and it didn't take 7+ years to arrive, it was reasonably priced (even when it was released) and there were no lawsuits involved. Poor Amiga Inc. fans :) But you have to LOL really.
-
I know that thats blatent trolling here, but I have to admit that this whole mess does make MorphOS & Aros seem way more attractive.
-
Bill just stay away from the Amiga scene, seriously and i don't mean that in a nasty way. You actually deliver products and run a proper business, in amigaland that is unacceptable.

Blatent Trolling? More like good sense...

Just a friendly moderator reminder to keep it civil. The first sign of real trolling or flame wars and I will lock the thread (or delete it).
This is the first and only warning.
Resume conversation... :-D

Great game, also a metaphor for many of us left in Amigaland.
@Argo
Looks like you're a celebrity now on the same Blog.
I'm not sure if I can even pretend to eat enough popcorn to keep up with this any more. But I'm giving it a hard try.

LOL, I knew it wouldn't be long before he showed up. How long before Hyperion teams up with him? the enemy of my enemy is my friend...
Hey bbrv! pull Hyperion out of this mess, put a nice G4/G5 on the market running OS4 and you'll see half of AW.Net "defect" :-)

Why not invest those money in getting MorphOS more modern instead of wasting it on another trial, that will most likely do more harm than good?
Welcome back by the way.

Well he probably wouldn't have to spend much, he does have a judgement already. However, I do agree with you otherwise. I have used MorphOS 1.4 and it's is pretty sweet. I would love to see MOS get another push on some real hardware.

ooohhhh.. I just bought alot of popcorn.. cant wait to see how this unravels.. LOL
EDIT:
its kinda disappointing the way the entire OS4/MOS thing turned out. MOS really is one hell of a OS...now if only MOS Devel would release it for EFIKA it would be even that much better. After all the dust settled..looks like BBRV/Genesi still stuck around when they could of just left the Amiga Community. Says alot about a person and their desire for a product/idea to succeed.

That would be nice. I liked MorphOS. (No experience with v1.4, though.) Come to think of it, an Efika running MOS, streaming net tunes with ANR would be perfect for the customer waiting area of my shop... (why not?) I don't know what kind of browser(s?) MOS has these days, but it could double as a customer net terminal. Naturally, the P3 in my garage could do the same, but this would be more fun. :-) Plus, MorphOS *does* have an artsy "wow" factor for those who have never seen it.
Don't mean to change direction here... but does anyone know how realistic an idea a MorphOS release for the Efika is?

They are working on it now! 1.5 will be available for Efika (i believe!)

Well, one doesn't know until it gets here I suppose, but at least the *ambition* has been declared:
"23.11.2006 - MorphOS will support the EFIKA
The MorphOS Team is pleased to announce that the next public release of MorphOS will support the EFIKA. The EFIKA is a low-power and silent miniature mainboard based on the Freescale MPC5200B SoC."
(http://www.morphos-team.net/news.html (http://www.morphos-team.net/news.html))
"Announcing MorphOS Support on Efika 5200B
23rd November 2006
Genesi is pleased to announce that the next public release of MorphOS will support the Efika. MorphOS is a lightweight and flexible operating system and Efika is a low-power and silent miniature mainboard based on the Freescale MPC5200B Power Architectureâ„¢ SoC.
Efika 5200B & MorphOS
The Efika 5200B is available on the PegasosPPC.com store. The retail price is $199 - please contact the sales team for reseller and bulk discounts."
(http://www.genesippc.com/press.php?date=20061123 (http://www.genesippc.com/press.php?date=20061123))
"Yesterday was momentous for another reason. Good form and function got a paycheck! We sent money out for MorphOS development. It is the first time we have sent more than a few thousand Dollars/Euros to anything MorphOS related for more than a couple of years (see A Statement Concerning MorphOS from 2004)."
(http://bbrv.blogspot.com/2007/01/back-for-future.html (http://bbrv.blogspot.com/2007/01/back-for-future.html))
One can only keep ones fingers crossed! :-)
Regarding the Efika - "Efika Act II" - "Many more are on the way..." (http://bbrv.blogspot.com/2007/05/efika-act-ii.html (http://bbrv.blogspot.com/2007/05/efika-act-ii.html)), I wonder if the $99 Efika is coming now? :-)
Another interesting thing is that Genesi has full access to the driver sources and documentation of the XGI Graphic Chips. This can mean (for the first time) official PPC drivers supporting *all* functionality of the GPU and peripheral components, including full 3D, hardware mpeg2 decoding, TV-out, etc. "The Open Client will be onsale this month with the *RoHS compliant V3XE* XGI graphic card and with the *LEADED V3XT* for those outside of Europe", (Thread on MorphZone (http://www.morphzone.org/modules/newbb_plus/viewtopic.php?topic_id=5239&forum=9)). *Hopefully* this will mean something for MorphOS as well! :-)
*If* all this becomes true, then we will have a very interesting little platform IMHO! :-D

AROS is due on EFIKA by September (This year!!! ).
Personally I hope it beats MOS - but in any event, AROS/EFIKA is shaping up to be an exciting and fun platform. A kind of NG minimig! :-)
-
I'm gonna waste no time hows morphos for Eifika coming cuz I got my two hundred bucks right here. :rtfm:

OK folks...
I deleted the "steaming pile" post along with the sibling posts. Keep it clean and on topic. No personal attacks or slander. Next time I lock the thread.

Nice, MorphOS *and* AROS for the Efika... sounds like fun! :-)
Cheers for the info, guys.

I do believe personal insults violate the TOS.
I also believe that you have done this purely to get the thread locked/deleted.
Go back to BAFWorld and see how far you get with writing such crap.

Thanks for the posting on you Blog. It's like some sort of weird honor. All for a small comment on you showmanship. P. T. Barnum would be proud.
To everyone else: Since the name calling didn't stop. This thread is locked.
