I've just got an 1260 from a succesful bid on ebay, but now i have a "little" problem trying to make it work :S
The card is identified on the early boot screen, the memory is reported (64mb edo ram) and everything is fine until i install the 68060-V44_3 package from aminet.
After i install the libraries and reboot, it returns a guru when running c:version (guru 8000 0003). If i run it without the simm, boots normally:S
If i try with a 16mb edo simm gives the same error, so i'm not sure that is a memory issue.
And one more thing, the mainboard is an 1D4, but i have done the "fix" removing both capacitors...
Any idea?
Pd> sorry for my bad english :)

That's a little worrysome, but don't panic yet. Those libs are incredibly obsolete. Get new ones from here (http://phase5.a1k.org).
-
Well, V44.3 is ancient.
Try this: systemdisk.lha (http://powerup.amigaworld.de/data/driver/systemdisk.lha)
Read 68040dummy.library.notes for installation instructions.
-
Ok, downloaded and installed ...
right now i have the following versions in libs:
68040.library 46.5
68040new.library 46.5
68040old.library 37.30
68060.library 46.7
But i'm still getting that guru :boohoo:
-
It's strange because if i boot without startup-sequence, and then execute setpatch, i can run 060 demos without problems :S but when booting normally i cannot get past the version command
(i have tested starstruck and tint / tbl)
-
Hmmm.... perhaps the maprom function is screwy. Did you try it with the maprom jumper set to disabled?
-
you should install the smallest 68040dummy.library and rename it as 68040.library and also the bigger 68060.library.
Installing MuRedox/Oxypatcher/Cyberpatcher may be a good idea too.
Check out which datatypes do you have installed.

Done :)
Installing MuRedox/Oxypatcher/Cyberpatcher may be a good idea too.
I will try that tonight

Its a fresh installation (wb3.1) :( the only thing that i have installed is the "driver" for the compactflash-pcmcia adapter.

There's an awesome unofficial support site on the 1260 HERE (http://www.geocities.com/Area51/1739/1260.html)
-
i have discovered that if i boot with the cache disabled, it boots normally.
Any idea so far?
(yesterday i tried to run cyberpatcher, but it still crashes :( )

This sounds like the problems Apollo '060 75mhz cards cause when you don't have the special libs for it
Is it a "full" 68060 you have or is it without FPU/MMU etc "LC" or "EC" model?
-
Let me see...
The cpu is an 060RC50, and with the libs installed and running cpu060 it's identified as 68060MC
-
How good is your PSU ? Got so many surprises with that...
-
Well, finally i've got a 1B revision from amigakit, and it's finally working!!!!!!
\o/
Thx you guys!
