But but but what about BPPC.... theres more of them than Cyberstorms.
:-( :-( :-(

I wish too, os4 will be a bootable option in my 1200 with bppc. This is one of the few things that keep me as an amigan nowadays.

Actually theres only a handful of them in active use. I wonder if it even covers for the packaging, manual, posting etc.

Does this mean that Hyperion can sell OS4 to classic users without AI ? I thought Hyperion and AI had issues? Well, that'll be a cool thing to classic users.

I am wondering how he found this webpage

Originally Hyperion was going to release OS4 for the classic PPC systems, *before* the A1. So it's a pretty safe bet that the classic release was worked out years ago - before the classic version was axed for the A1.

From the ad on the back cover of the last Total Amiga magazine.
-
It was on AW.net forums
-
cool, just couldn't find it be navigating around the site

That's all very nice, but what about us faithful Amigans
that DON'T have a PPC card ?
They cannot be bought anymore since no one is making them anymore :-? (not mentioning doubtful sales on eBay etc).
I have an Amiga 4000 in an Elbox tower and would love to get
a PPC based accelerator to replace my Apollo 060 card, but alas, miracles don't happen...
-
Why not port OS4 to 040 and 060 to. But I would love to be able to run OS4 on my PPC card. It is one of the reasons I have not sold that card yet.
-
i posted a similar (reply)question on amigaworld,
and the reply was that yes i can run OS4 with my BPPC,
but as i have a mediator + cards the driver`s will only run in emulation.

Well, Elbox claim that they'll start selling SharkPPC G3/G4 accelerators for people with Mediator busboards. However, for that price you could probably buy the new Amiga that A Inc. and ACK announced at the start of the week.

Wow, did I miss something ? A link maybe ?
And you're right, I would first have to buy the mediator busboard which will probably cost me an arm, then the SharkPPC
which will cost me the other arm so I will have no fingers left to use my "new" Amiga

@AmiSake
Check out Elbox's product page (http://elbox.com/products.html). It's in the product column on the right, under the heading PPC G3/G4 accelerators. Look at the prices and then compare them to the prices in this (http://amiga.com/news/?art=26&PHPSESSID=c6350ce3431200ddd53b96b08ad73a69) announcement. The new machine is definitely cheaper. No idea what the specs are. We're supposed to find that out next week.
