Title: MIDI Composing software for wb3.1 a2000?
Post by: AndrewB on April 19, 2007, 09:56:39 PM
On a quest, to make this A2000 running wb3.1, communicate with the Yamaha S30 keyboard here. :-)
(everyone needs a hobby, right?)

Anyhow, no idea where to start...
But it's for my young son who is learning music and composing, so I'd love it if it had musical sheet scoring as a tie in maybe?

It's been SO many years, that I have no clue where to start... appreciate any experience. I am not adverse to spending a buck either, if something is around, but hasn't made it into the public domain yet.

I seem to recall names like dmusic, or soundscape? or something along those lines?

thanks for any ideas...

There's only one real option on Amiga for a good midi software (well..as far as I know) and it's Bars And Pipes.

http://www.amigau.com/c-music/barsandpipes.htm

Found this link for ya. The soft is there, along with tutorials and midget porn.

Yeah there WAS a great package in development years ago.
called camouflage. which was the amiga version of cubase and logic etc,etc but it never surfaced into a full bug free release. I had tried it out on my amiga years ago. it had high hopes and i was impressed by it's features.

It would of been heaps better than bars and pipes.

oh well....

Unfortunately, Amiga music software has fallen behind all other platforms... Though I still use OctaMED, but not for "clasical music notation" (though early versions of OctaMED do have a notation editor)... I've not tried "HD Record", maybe that has some MIDI support?

I've been using Bars & Pipes for ages and it works really good. You'll find the latest version here. There should be an 8 colour version that suits OS 3.1

I've become quite a fan of Deluxe Music. Legally available here (http://amiga.emucamp.com/deluxemusic.htm).
