Just looking for opinions. Since the source code is for sale it's probably a dead end isn't it ? I prefer to support software that will still be updated.

If the current version does what you want at a price you're willing to pay, then it's worth it. If you're hoping for further developments from the line of software, then it may not be a good investment. Only you can decide if it's worth it :-)

-Lightwave is still being updated, but you'll have to get an updated platform to run it.
-Imagine is still (I belive) being updated, but once again, on a platform that is still being updated.
I seriously doubt that there are any 3d packages being updated on the Amiga.
Aladin is a good package, but I think Lightwave had more support while on the Amiga platform.

Actually Imagine is still being updated on the Amiga but it's PC counter part doesn't seem to be for sometime.
