Title: GVP A530 is up for grabs on ebay!
Post by: retrogeeks on April 06, 2007, 03:10:31 AM
Hi,

  I am selling a GVP A530 on ebay.  Ebay ITEM # 230114018775

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230114018775

Check my other auctions. More amiga 500 items tonight and tommorow.

I have  more items going up in the next week or two.
Tocata sound card,
picaso 2 card
Amiga 2000 setup 68040 etc...
68060 card.
and more!

Forgive the spelling, it has been a long day, and the items are more than 5 feet away :)

Regards,
RG, Aka Mark

Ps - Anyone have a ide cable for a amiga 1200, one that can connect 1 2.5HD inside the case, and a std 3.5" end that runs outside the case available for sale?

I AM NOT RETROGEEK/DOOMMASTER or whatever he goes by. Been RG several years before him!!!

*bump*

This is a FANTASTIC upgrade for the A500, tons 'o fun. It's just shame it's so rare and expensive. I like mine, just wish the previous owner hadn't thrashed the outer case. :getmad: It'll be even better if I manage to get a quiet IDE drive running on it.

Hi,

I am willing to ship it to canada, not sure how much more it will cost to do that. I have had mixed results when shipping to canada, sometimes it's a reasonable amount of time, other times it took forever.(ok 5 weeeks but it felt like forever :) ) I will be taking some better pictures of the item on sunday. If anyone wants better picts pm me.

Regards,
Mark

Mine is still going strong. I remember the first time I brought it home and plugged it in (1992 I think). I was absolutely amazed with the speed.

re: A530

$299.95 won't happen, you are likely scaring buyers off with this BIN. Pure auction you may get ~$150, if you get a few serious buyers/collectors in a bidding war. BIN ~$79-$99 may get snapped up if you want a fast sale.

eBay is a strange beast, you could gt much more or almost nothing. Don't believe some of the bizzare ultra high winning bids for C=/amiga stuff you see, IMO most of those are fakes.

I just sold the none accelerated version(gvp impact series ii a500-hd8+ with 4mb ram and 80meg hd) for BIN of 149.99(ebay) and the money is allready in the account.

I do agree ebay is a very strange beast. And this may not sell, but the last minute is all that realy matters.  The last a530 I saw that sold on ebay(about a week ago, went for 440ish, his had the box, manuals and the PC286 card) I must admit, if the a530 doesnt sell I might try and track the 286 card down this is realy a nice product, but between my multiple 2000's(8) 500(7) 1000(5) and 1200's(3) no real purpose in it for me. (other than being way cool!!)

I do plan on using my amiga money for more amiga gear for me :) Need to find a 4000 to build. Along with some odds and ends. And dare i say it here, some atari st/falcon hardware. ( Do not hurt me, please.  Amiga is my 1st love, but I enjoy the st as well.)

Zero feedback, looks like bull-sh**. I doubt money exchaned hands at that price. While possible, it would be an exception, not a rule. Still I say BS.

A perfect example of that would be THIS (http://cgi.ebay.com/GVP-Impact-Series-II-A500-HD8-SCSI-Drive-for-Amiga-500_W0QQitemZ330105590948QQihZ014QQcategoryZ4598QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) auction...

Tons of auctions right now driven up by people with no transaction history.

Yeah, $299 may be a little high for an A530. I know one sold for over $400 recently, but I think that was a pretty questionable sale. No harm in trying though, you can always lower it later.
