Title: No longer FS: Acard 7220UW SCSI - IDE Adapter NIB
Post by: Damion on April 04, 2007, 08:02:59 AM
Prefer to sell within the States...

Works with various Amiga 68-pin SCSI interfaces.

Product info from the manufacturers website here (http://www.acard.com/english/fb01-product.jsp?idno_no=34&prod_no=AEC-7720UW&type1_title=SCSIDE%20Bridge&type1_idno=2).

I actually ordered the 50-pin adapter (7220U) and was sent the 7220UW by mistake.:madashell: I thought I'd see if anyone here wants it before I go through the hassle of making a return. I opened the box tonight before realizing it was the wrong one, but the unit is still 100% new, and I did not remove it from the sealed anti-static bag.

I'm asking $39, shipped priority mail within the US. I'll ship the same day as I receive payment (paypal is quick and easy for me), and provide tracking info.

I'll have to send it back within a few days, so I need to know fairly soon whether or not anyone is interested.

cheers

Damion

*bump*

$35 shipped... smokin' here for Cyberstorm/Blizzard SCSI guys who want to add an IDE drive. DMA works BTW. ;-)

UW-model is most suitable for CS PPC / MK3 SCSI.

Someone grab this, this is *cheap*.

those things works FLAWLESSLY with the csppc... I have 2 of them on one of my setups, the 2,5" 40GB HD I use reaches 27MB/s with this converter!

Thanks guys, I'm glad to hear these things generally work well. I wish I could use it, but my A530 has a 50-pin connector... and I'd feel silly about buying an expensive adapter, when I'd rather just have the 50-pin Ultra bridge.

I'm starting to think that the 2000FU (http://www.acard.com/english/fb01-product.jsp?idno_no=26&prod_no=ARS-2000FU&type1_title=SCSIDE%20Bridge&type1_idno=2) may be the best fit for my A530. My concern is the 7200U *might* be a tad wide to fit in the housing nicely. (The 68-pin connector on the 7200UW isn't as large, so the PCB isn't as wide.)

Someone has asked about international shipping... I'm not totally opposed, but the shipping cost seems ridiculous, and if for some reason it didn't work, I'd feel pretty terrible. I may stop by the post office tomorrow morning and get an idea for international costs, if no one Stateside has grabbed it by then. If I could do it for US $40-$45 to Europe, that would be fine with me.

cheers

OK -- I'm not having much luck, so maybe I can ask a member more experienced with this device a question:

If I were to use a 68-pin to 50-pin adapter, the 7220UW *should* function equivalently to a 7220U, correct? Or would it be better to use a 7220U for the A530, which has a SCSI-I(?) 50-pin connection as standard...?

I may just go that route, since I found a 68/50 male/male adapter for $10.

Thanks again everyone.

Decided to work things out with the vendor, so "alles jetzt in ordnung."  Cheers to those who showed interest. To the gentleman in DK, it would have cost roughly $30 to ship by some reliable means, which would have made it more of a risk than a bargain. Thanks again.

Hello,

I sent you a PM yesterday regarding this adapter.

I'm still interested if it is still available.
