Title: My new A500 !
Post by: Giana on March 31, 2007, 04:50:39 PM
Hi all,

Here is my new A500. The old one died after more than 16 years of service !
Here is the successor. Quite good condition and working well, the yellowing keabord will replace with a clean one.
Only 19 Euros on Ebay.
Sorry for this "I'm the center of the world" email, but I'm so happy.

Giana

Nice! I agree with Orange that it's nice to see a nice simply Amiga being used as a games machine. I tried doing that once, but it ended up getting expanded :-)

Yes, as time is going I'm prefer to use basic systems.
I have :
- A600 + 030 + flashdrive + 32 Mo ram,
- A600 + HD + extra ram,
- A600 basic + flashdrive,
- A1200 basic + flashdrive,
- A1200 + 040 + HD + flashdrive,
- A1200 + PPC + 040 + BVision.

And you know what ?
The systems I use most is :
1 - A600 basic + flashdrive,
2 - A1200 basic + flashdrive.

The system I use the less is the A1200 + PPC

Getting old is a strange thing ...

I powered my A600 for the first time in months earlier today.  I invested so much into customizing the environment of OS 2.1.  It was like bumping into an old girlfriend.  The screen was so clean and uncluttered.

I love the look of an un-expanded A500, also very clean look.  It sort of symbolizes power and elegance in my mind.

I keep a box/stock A1000 to play older games on. It's great.
It's usually too expensive to expand the A1000, so it's "safe" :)
