I have got another A4000 from ebay 8-)
My current A4k has SCSI setup..
Now in this (new) one I would like to go IDE
What I need ? IDEFix97 ? Or better use a Buddha-Controller (I have one)...
What do you think ? (I never used IDE in a A4k)

I know it doesn't answer your question:nervous: , but I noticed this on Swiss ebay
Amiga (http://cgi.ebay.ch/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2735079410&category=8142)
My German is quite bad, but its a tower with an Amiga 2000 and a PC in it! It has two mobos, two hard disks, two CD-ROMs a ROM switcher and a flicker fixer!
Just how much is 150 Swiss Francs?

150 Swiss Francs are about 100 Euro

Idefix 97 should work fine budah controler might be better than internal ide you can only connect 2 devices to internal connector unless you can get an ide adapter . :-)
-
you could also use an xsurf board, where an ide controller is implemented. this option is only interesting, if you wish to connect your 2nd 4k via ethernet.
this one works fine here.

I'd go with the Buddha if you plan on using a newer ide drive unless you want to fight with cold boots. So far I've had no problems with the Buddha in my 4000.

@shIva
I have an X-surf. The IDE-Controller on this card
doesen't support Autoboot AFAIK
I think I try the Buddha

the XSurf/2 IDE port, is only for backup/storage pourpose.
It is a software emulated IDE port with a very very slow t-rate (1.1MB/sec on an A4000/040)
