Title: A1200 PS problem?
Post by: GreggBz on June 12, 2003, 08:08:44 AM
Ok, I've got a problem.
At first I thought it was either my roms or my motherboard,
But now I've come to the conclusion that it is my power supply.

When I turn on my A1200 the drive clicks once and then black screen. Sometimes, I'll get a red screen or a green screen. The caps lock key always blinks once upon powerup. I've tried two different motherboards and two different floppy drives. Aparently It's either my original A1200 PS or the keyboard. I do get stedy voltage from the powersupply when everything is on and plugged in. I tried it at the floppy connector and at the powersupply itself. Any indications as to what is the problem. A powersupply, I can hack up from an old PC PS. A keyboard, well that's  a different story.
HELP!
=)

based on my own recent experience, I'd say it's the Power Supply.  Does the syptoms stay the same, when you boot without the keyboard connected?

-Jar.

The original PSU with the A1200 is puny only 23W, you need to get a more powerful PSU from someone like Eyetech, Analogic, Power Computing or Softhut with a 200W or bigger so it can power the 1200 and peripherals.
