What does anyone suggest for adding an external CD-ROM drive to an A1200? My PCMCIA slot is not being used at this time and I want to play some CD-32 games on my A1200.
Thanks in advance!

Get a SCSI Suirrel interface with a SCSI CDRom or CDRW if want a PCMCIA slot expansion. You can buy the external CDRom complete with power pack either built into the CDRom or with an external powerpack.I've just done this myself.

Where did you get yours? Where could I get mine? Thanks!

EBAY mostly. Email Softhut to see if any are in stock. Amibench and craigslist otherwise.

Perfect motorollin! Thank you. Now to just track down a SCSI CD-ROM drive and I'm in business!

It might be worth contacting Matthew from Amigakit as he managed to source me a SCSI CD-RW drive. He might be able to get you a CD-ROM. Also keep an eye on eBay and also if you work for a company which has an IT department ask them if they have any old decommissioned servers with SCSI CD-ROMs in them which you could have.

Hey all, would something like this work with a Squirrel adapter or for that matter would something like this plug into my Commodore A590 or GVP A530 and with proper drivers give my A500 a CD-ROM drive?

Thanks!

Any SCSI device will function normally when hooked up to the SquirrelSCSI as long as its properly terminated.
You can hook a CDdrive to the C=590, as long as you have a CD driver like CDFS on the HD, same with the GVP A530 it looks like.

Thanks so much Amiduffer!
I think I'll give it a try.
