Title: FS: Crummy mouse
Post by: weirdami on March 24, 2007, 11:36:39 PM
Check out the ebay listing. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160099747725) It's not really crummy, but it is just your regular, old, Amiga mouse. If you know how, you might want to replace the clicker buttons inside.

Save your old broken VCR players. I find the click buttons on the circuit cards work great for replacing worn out Amiga mice buttons. :-)

Any idea of where to get the Teflon (?) pads?  I'd like to resurrect my preggy mouse one day.  It had so many miles on it that the pads are worn down to the plastic.

@adolescent

I bought some years and years ago at an amiga show. I think it was Tom's Hardware or something who had them. The wife part of the team said that it was a standard part and they just found out which part number it was. Don't ask me what that is, though.

Cool, I salvaged a VCR panel off a discarded machine in San Francisco and got 7 clicky buttons! Now I can fix my original C= mouse! Thanks for mentioning that.

Always carry your Leatherman!!  :-)

Yknow...that is actually quite clever. I've got a run down VCR here that (now that I know this) I'm just about to dismantle hoping to find some of these clickies :) They do make "click" when I press them and it's just about as old as an Amiga.. Maybe I can salvage my C= mouse too :D

I remember doing that myself. Getting a panel of a VCR and replacing the left amiga mouse button since that one would be the first one to be worn down lol.  Wish they somehow integrated a different switch and still keep the classic amiga mouse. :)  Watch out though. Some buttons from the VCR may stand higher then the amiga buttons, and requires you to sand some of the plastic down to get it right.

Yippee. My old Commie mouse has been brought back to life! Soon as I soldered the button on, I ran it through a test of Ports of Call. All is good.
