Hi there,
Are you talking about adding an extra internal floppy in your 2000?
This picture (http://home.wanadoo.nl/leof/A2000Floppies.jpg) might help you.
The DF0 drive jumper stays the same. DF1 jumper sits on the two right pins. The upper row of pins is not used at all (see picture).
Close jumper J301 on the motherboard. Page A-23 of the Amiga 2000 manual says this jumper has to be closed in order for the Amiga to recognize an ID bit stream from each floppy. This is normally not necessary when there's only one internal floppy. (You already knew that)
Have fun.

the bottom drive in pix shows a drive with 6 sets of pins
3 up and 3 down with jumper on right set of two pins, is that DS0 or DS1. the top pix shows a drive with only 3 sets of pins and the jumper is set on the left is that DSO or DS1. both of my drives have 6 pins 3 on top and 3 on bottom. please advise

My DF1 has 6 pins too. I ignored the top row of pins. I'm not sure if that's what you do with DF0, but I'd give that a try.
