Fellow Amigans:
What kind of game, new amiga games you would like to see?
I'd like to know..so maybe I can develop a new game..that hopefully would be the game you would like to see.
You can find my first amiga game, wizard of the orb, on my webpage.
www.feryogi.com/amos.html
If I were to make a new game..what would you like it to be? (ie. genre)
ex. An arcade like blood money? a roleplay like dungeon master? a sports simulation? Any other kind?
Pls let me know..what would you like to see.
thanks!!!

I'd love to see a nice RPG like Zelda or Secret of Mana on the SNES. With both windowed and fullscreen modes, and it would be nice to have AmigaInput support, so that it could be played with gameport/USB joypads.

Id like to see an online game like this :
www.wwiionline.com
I know its a bit far fetched but start small and get bigger :)
Maybe the Battle of Berlin ? Start with defence of the reichstag and slowly get bigger ????
-
I saw on TV there was this game on the PS3 called Lemmings. That looks like it could be done on the Amiga.
-
I want to see a relatively modern flight simulator. It's the kind of game our platform lacks.
-
I saw on TV there was this game on the Xbox called paperboy. That looks like it could be done on the Amiga.
-
and it would be nice to have AmigaInput support
AmigaInput is OS4-only, isn't it?
Well the thread starter didn't actually specify whether he meant Classic Amiga, OS4 or Amiga Anywhere (or whatever else "Amiga" could mean), but that "amos.html" at the end of the url gives some sort of hint, imho :-)
I started serious programming on AMOS too, before moving to C. It's good "learning language" indeed.

I would like to see a combination of multiplayer xpilot and Elite, but in a much smaller scale than Elite. It should be like a huge 2D room where you can fly around and buy weapons and shields to your spaceship and sell gems that you collect from the gems mines. You should also be able to collect gems by killing other players and get their gems from their ship wreck.

Best game to grace our platform would be Half Life. Then we could play HL online, perhaps CS and other great mods.
It is surprisingly fun online.

Come on guys; the topic starter writes games in Amos. So let's do some realistic suggestions!
Do you know how to write a tile based scrolling engine? I'd like to see a simple Cannon Fodder clone with lots of explosions where you can destroy a lot of the surroundings!
Hmmm don't know if my suggestion is even possible in Amos...

Dear Amigans:
Yes..I code in Amos, so there is some limitations to what I can make. A flight simulator is beyond my abilities.
But a game like paperboy or lemmings, I can easily code. Or like Worms. An 'elite' kind of game I could do. A multiplayer game is out of the question for now, but I could start a strategy game kind of like the 'wwii'then build up.
I would love to make a new version of elite, with the shields, ships, and gems.
I would love to make a game based on the popular sid meier's pirates. But a space pirates!!! where you travel the galaxy and fight against the evil empire, rescuing damsels in distress and looking for treasure.
OK guys...keep posting!!!

Whatever you do, don't clone a game already available on Amiga unless you can make it better. Unless of course you just wanna have fun programming a small game.
So that means, Lemmings, Pirates!, Colonization, Galaga and the such won't be very popular as the originals are already top notch.
When you get to the point you need music for the game, send a mail my way :) I did a lot of music professionally for games and movies and I'd be glad to lend a hand.

The Incredible Machine!

Super Cars 2

A top down 'role-play' type game ala the SNES Zelda but not so cutesy; something like the original Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain would be awesome - basically Zelda with vampires and tons of gore.
Infact I'd say apart from the advanced lighting effects (for 1996) they probably could have managed an AGA only Amiga version of BO:LoK.
-
A newer(better) version off K240(higher graphics ) or a new turrican episode!
Or something like apydia with a lot off nice colours.
-
@thread
Keep in mind, people, that AMOS can only do ECS graphics.
@Marco
Also keep in mind, Marco, that an advanced RPG will likely take more than just the two megs of RAM that your A1200 comes with (unless it does a lot of hard drive swapping).
-
Hy don't you program Forbidden Forest by Cosmi only made for the Commodore 64 would be fun having something like this on Amiga ,and I think that Amos could manage it!
Use your fantasy!
It's good you started something!
Just act!
Good Luck!

Well Rednova, it looks like the votes favor a role-playing game. I was going to advocate an RPG myself although my favorite in that genre was Shining Force on the Sega Genesis (and also on the PC thanks to Sega's Smash Pack 2).
Also, if the graphics from the Wizard game you've got shown on your website are the best pixel-art you can do, maybe you should stick to 3d rendered art.
-
Have a look at those tiny (JAVA?) games made for mobile phones. Some of them are really good and most should be able to run on Amiga.
Also there are interesting flash games on net.
-
Maybe game like UFO or X-Com? Ufo is awesome game!!!!
-
You can make one game and make everybody happy.

I'm trying to get a team together to start making new Amiga games too! I think we need to create a new Amiga games label/company, set a bunch of standards, get organised, find out what the people want, and deliver!
I've created a survey to find out exactly what people want to see in new Amiga games. The survey is split into two parts, and anyone can fill it out (please be honest) and help us to get to know what demand is there.
The survey pages are here:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=399343561778
and
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=152143562127
I'm more than willing to share the results of the survey with you, rednva. Just let me know.
