I'm trying to remember the name of a game I used to like playing. IIRC it opened in a window on Workbench and you controlled a little helicopter which could fire forwards and down. A terrain was (randomly?) created, sometimes with cliffs, sometimes with ceilings, sometimes both, sometimes tunnels to squeeze through. There were also cannons which fired up, and you could shoot the tops off them to destroy them. I seem to remember that all of the graphics were red.
Does anyone remember the name of this game? I seem to remember somethingabout "Raid", but I couldn't find anything by Googling this or on Aminet.

Hum,
Perhaps it was raid (http://amiga.emucamp.com/raid.htm)...
-
No that's not it. It was side-scrolling. It scrolled automatically, and all the graphics were all red, or maybe green, and much more simple than that. Obviously not Raid then :-)

Moto,
Could it be that it was on a Coverdisk (IIRC Amiga Computing)? It used the four Workbench colors. It indeed ran on the workbench. I've played it quite a lot but its name... Must be getting old ;-)

Does sound a bit like Fort Apocalypse (http://www.c64-wiki.de/index.php/Fort_Apocalypse) but I don't remember there being an Amiga version.
Used to play it on the C64 and Atari.

@amiga_3k
Yes I think it did come on a coverdisk. I remember playing it on WB1.3 in a small window, and yes it might have been the Workbench orange colour.
@castellen
No it wasn't that :-(

Sounds almost like the arcade Super Cobra. Not sure if there is an Amiga version/clone though.

Yes very similar to that, but ISTR that the graphics were even less detailed, and it definitely ran in a window.

Just a *bump* - really hoping someone can help me remember the name of this game! It might have come on CU Amiga's "21 Games" collection but I can't find a copy anywhere. Has anyone got it?

There's a website with a lot of downloadable CU Amiga coverdisks (in ADF), and the "21 Games" (coverdisk #22) is amongst them.
I'm not posting the link here (for fear of being shot by the Copyright Protection Sniper Brigade), but just Google search for "cu amiga coverdisk", you'll find it (or send me a PM).
-
Well it's not on 21 Games. It was definitely a Workbench game. Is there a list of Workbench games anywhere?

Hey Moto,
Is it this?

Hi melange
I think that might be it! I recognise the huge blue icon. Sadly it doesn't seem to run properly under 3.9 :-(

Yeah, I gave it a try in AmiKit and didn't seem to work properly either.
Either that or I didn't understand what was supposed to be happening. :crazy: Seemed way too fast anyway. :-(
-
Oh wait it does work, you have to open it on a 15KHz screen (rather than a CGX/P96 one) then it works. And it is the game I was trying to find. Thanks a lot!!!!! :-D :-D :-D
Not sure why I remember the landscape being red and the helicopter shooting down and across at the same time. Maybe I'm confusing it with a different game.
Anyway, thanks a lot! :-D

Ahh, cool :-D
I looked at a bunch of my CUCD's and didn't find anything, then I decided to try google, came up right away :-)
Glad to help :-)

What did you Google for? I tried but couldn't find it. Just wondering what you thought of searching for and I didn't :-)
