Title: Mouse not working on A4000
Post by: Ross1 on March 06, 2007, 03:11:53 PM
Hi guy's,

My second A4000D that I am building into another Video Toaster/Flyer system is having a problem. The Mouse is not working, the pointer jitters ever so slightly when I move the mouse but thats all that happens it sits in the upper left corrner.
The Mouse works fine on my other A4000. Is their something that I should look at to fix this? I made sure that the pins on the connector were making good contact and that seems fine.

I have heard that a dead cia chip can be the cause for this.

Thanks Tomas,

Is this repairable and can someone confirm this?

Sigh...I guess I have two options here,
1) send the A4000 mb to Amiga center in France. Is this a cost effective way? and is shipping costly? I'm in Central Canada.
2) find someone on here who may be generous and have an A4000 mb for sale?

Any ideas?

I also do component level motherboard repairs here in New Zealand, return freight to CA might be a bit cheaper.
Plus it's a fairly simple repair, so would be quick and cheap to do.
Contact me (http://amiga.serveftp.net) for a price estimate and more details.
