I'm starting to get a little tired of all the bizarre filesystem errors I'm getting on my SFS partitions lately. They're getting more and more frequent just as my disk partitions seem to be getting slower and slower. I've tried SFSDEFRAGing them, but that has not helped one iota. Things were great when I first built my SFS partitions (lightning fast, zero errors), but apparently they don't age well, especially under heavy use.. Or am I missing something? Now I get stuff like this, all the time:
"findextentbnode: findbnode() can't find key 182043! error=0 *returned_bnode=08062858 (*returned_bnode)->key=182018"
"CONTINUE?" or "NOMOREREQUESTERS?"
It goes without saying that "No More Requesters" yields...another requester!
I'm having serious PFS-envy. :idea: :idea: Is this available for sale at all, anywhere, from anyone, for any amount of money? Or is this another of those stupid abandonware situations where the authors have fled to Mars to join a religious cult (Mac users?) and no longer recognize any form of monetary currency as payment for copies of disowned relics of their former lives? The frustrations of Amiga ownership are many.. Good thing the hardware kicks ass. Anyway, back to the purpose of my screed. :) Does anyone know if pfs (the newer version that supports huge partitions) can be purchased anywhere?
If the copyright owner has indeed left the planet and can no longer be bothered with accepting money, then perhaps he could be persuaded to grant a license in lieu of a charitable contribution to a cause of his or her choosing? How about that as a concept? Donations to charity in xchange for abandonware licenses -- with owner's approval, of course.
EDIT: jk about the mac users crack. Couldn't resist. :)

Yes, I have considered that possibility. Two of the disks are generating most -but not all- of the errors. But the slowness is happening on all of them. Two disks failing I could believe as a coincidence, but 4 out of 4?

Software Hut still shows PFS in their online catalog, though I would email them first to verify they still have it. PFS (http://tinyurl.com/2zcs39)

I never had this kind of error requesters but i think it worth to backup your partitions, format them and restore their contents. One by one.
Are you using V2? It is considered experimental.
Edit: Also, SFS relies on the good operation of the scsi.device. If you are using an old/buggy one, it will cause problems.

I have been using SFS for years and have never, ever had this error. I really think you should back up the contents of the partitions, then *completely* erase the disk. If possible, put it in a PC and use a zero fill utility to ditch the whole RDB. Then download a 1.x version of SFS, create a new RDB and install SFS in to it. Recreate all the partitions, slow format them and copy your data back.
