Ive got birdie installed but now i wanna install bprefs addon. Can someone give me a quick idiots guide. I have read it but im not sure. It talks about a file called "Birdie.prefs" and there isnt one.Not sure about what to put in the startup-sequence file either. Someone tell me where to put each file and what to put in startup pretty please.....
-
you put the following line in your user-startup or startup-sequence
run >nil: birdie ? <env:birdie.prefs
it doesn't really matter where you place this as long as it is somewhere after 'iprefs'
i personally have it as my last line in user-startup
the preference program should create the birdie.prefs file in env: and envarc: if i remember correctly.
the birdie.prefs file is actually the command line you would use when not using the preference program but stored seperatly in ascii form so that the preference program can easely edit it.

and the great thing about BPrefs ia that you can Test all your patterns in runtime! very handy.
Personally i have the line placed in User-Strartup.

I understand the startup-sequence bit. Its files im puzzled on, my "bprefs.lha" file has these files in the root:
Birdie Prefs
Birdie Prefs.guide
Birdie Prefs.guide.info
Birdie Prefs.info
bprefs
bprefs.readme
Catalogs.info
Source.info
There is no file called "birdie.prefs" notice the dot.Or is this dot a typo and its the "Birdie Prefs" file. What is the exact path for "Birdie Prefs" and "bprefs" where should they go.
Thanx in advance for your help :-)

BPprefs dosen't have birdie.prefs in archive, and this is normal. After you start proggy, choose images for birdie, and save your settings, bprefs will create birdie.prefs in env: and env-archive.
