it's dead. was working one minute i used the drive in another computer put it back, now it won't work. i have a multimeter to check the psu outputs. got a feeling that may have gone? otherwise whats the checklist...

Perhaps if you provide a little more detail.
What computer did you remove it from?
What computer did you put it into?
Which particular GVP Impact card is it? HC or HC2?
How did the PSU checkout?
-
i borrowed the scsi disk out of the gvp and put it in a mac...
it says impact series 2 a500-hd+. the mb says a500-hd8 series 2 rev 6. i might have changed the scsi id but thats all. then dead...
2 ram slots are full. wonder how big they are?

Problably your card is not dead in any way.
Follow these steps:
- Look in the card if there are some strap to inform there is a booting hd in it (take out the hd and change the jumper);
- Boot from the Workbench disk or the install disk (what version of WB do you have?) and run hdtoolbox to check if the hd is there or not.
- In hdtoolbox, use the "turn reselection on"
If no luck, come back.:horse: And give us some more details.
