Title: HELP!! DEAD AMIGA CDTV UNIT !!! Was working, now is dont! Newbie!!

Hi.  A few months i bougth a AMIGA CDTV. The unit was full working, the diskette drive was a little bit dusty and that... but all as working fine.

I try to clean it,  all system. I Dont open the unit!!
After power on,  NOTHING HAPPENS!!  :-o

i can hear only the fan working. Notting appear on the LCD screen on the cdtv, and nothing appear on tv, the unit is complety dead excepct the cooling fan.


The only think that occur me is that i has left the unit on standby mode (Red ligth on unit ON),, and i disconnect the Drive disk cable for it!!!!
i hear this a BIG MISTAKE...may damage the unit.

Dawn if i knows this before ...


PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS MESS.

I dont believe on this i BROKE A AMIGA CDTV DAWN ME


EDIT : I post this on amigaworld.net. Some ppl reply and i try to open the unit i check everthing.
I check the voltages on cables from the power source. One cable have 15V i thing...and the others cables appears that have no Voltage at all !! ..i thing i do all the measures all rigth..but..

So it migth be only a broken power source?!? Or is something else....

Please enlightment me

Your best bet is to go to www.cdtv.org.uk and ask there.  The guy is an expert on these little machines.

It sounds just like you blew a fuse in the PSU, the CDTV has two fuses and if you blow one the CDTV's fan will spin but nothing else happens.

open the CDTV up, find the power suply (grey box) and unscrew it (Two screws on the top), and check the fuses.. easy  :-D

Humm !! One fuse was broken.

Can u tell what type of Fuse are?
I dont wrote down. I am not in my house anymore.

I am from europe!
220V here
