Title: WinUAE to real Amiga SCSI drive ?
Post by: on February 22, 2007, 03:33:03 AM
Hello,
I see in WinUAE that I can add as a hard drive, either a directory, a hardfile or... a hard drive!

As I happend to have a good adaptec AHA-2940 SCSI controller on my PC, is it possible to format a hard drive in FFS on the PC and then bring it over to the Amiga or the opposite? If so, what would be the procedure to follow ?

That would make my A3000 hard drive installation a LOT quicker...

Thank you all!

Just add this line on the WinUAE program Icon:
-disableharddrivesafetycheck .

Explaining better:

- Click on WinUAE icon with the right mouse button;

- Select "proprieties" (sorry for the bad english spells);

- In the line who calls the program simply put "-disableharddrivesafetycheck" after WinUAE.exe.

- Install the hd in the SCSI chain, properly terminated and configurated, starts Windows and then do your job.:-D

Hey thanks!

Now WinUAE seems to see all my hard drives, SCSI or otherwise.

However, If I try to enter that in the target in the properties of the shortcut icon, windows refuses it saying the path and filename is not valid...  :-?

However, if I enter winuae.exe -disableharddrivesafetycheck directly in the command prompt it does work.
