While you're at it, how about wishing for a new car? ;)

Or you could just say you were the one who dropped off this Apple I (one of only 200 made and possibly one of only a handful still around) and claim your $100,000

While I had to Google the G-Rex A4000T that I had never heard of before, I'm gonna say one thing: "But being this is a G-Rex A4000D, the most powerful Amiga PCI board in the world  and would blow you head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself one  question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?"

What ya willin' to spend?

I don't know what you people are even smoking.  Although in a slightly unrelated note, it's "nice" to see the Elbox website still has pages announcing such bogus products as the SharkPPC, Dragon Coldfire, and TurboFlyer 530.  I just do not understand why a legitimate hardware company, that makes some great products like the Mediator and FastATA, could completely flub such other things and then keep the announcements up, almost as if it's a joke, for years later.

Oh well, as they say, only Amiga! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cml_YsTznRU)  ;)

looks like the site I found is a support site, not DCE.

Yes, there is a support site that has the relevant install files for getting a G-Rex PCI board fully operational: http://grex.amigaworld.de/index.php?lang=en&page=39

I quote from that site:

"From the serial numbers we got we can estimate the following production volumes:

G-Rex 1200                                                              198 cards
G-Rex 4000D                                                              87 cards
G-Rex 4000T                                                                0 cards"

Wow those are not huge numbers! Better off just getting a Mediator and move on.

Although if the hardware design is out there could make for a good crowd sourcing project.

Still hanging on by a thread for Elbox to release those cards, does seem strange as they have released other substantial hardware. Come on Elbox :)

Apparently that was tried already.

Disappointing.  Always was my understanding that the G-Rex was the crème de la crème of Amiga busboards.  Would be nice to have some new hardware, either way.  :(

The G-Rex bypasses the limitation of the Zorro 3 bus speed (actually the Buster 11 speed) of around 13 MB/s.  This Z3 slow access is why OS4.1 Classic will not use RAM boards on the Z3 bus (too slow) but will only use RAM on the Cyberstorm board.  A true PCI (version 1) bus supports 133 MB/s transfer speed and while the G-Rex only achieves 50 MB/s, this is quite a bit more than the Mediator utilizing the Zorro 3 bus.

Thus the G-Rex is more akin to the .44 Magnum hand gun than a .22 short round Midnight Special from Elbox ; the former will blow your head "clean off," while the other is good for snakes and varmints...

Thats a shame, as most projects would get a good boost using something like Kickstarter but a lot of developers don't like the idea of Kickstarter.

Can't buy a G-Rex = .00, still able to buy a mediator .22, plus you need a  CyberStorm PPC or Blizzard PPC that are a certain version. Double wammy ;-)

This Z3 slow access is why OS4.1 Classic will not use RAM boards on the Z3 bus (too slow) but will only use RAM on the Cyberstorm board.

:roflmao: If you talk to the right guys, you will find out, that this is not the reason for blocking Z3 RAM in OS4.1...... the reason is to avoid emulation, to force people to buy NG-Hardware.... because they finance hyperion and are not interested in giving other Users the chance to use 4.x without buying the Harware....

I know that it is working! And fast enough for classic Hardware.... And for example NetBSD can use it as normal ram... I tried it.....

No, I have run the numbers (see Hyperion classic forum) and Z3 ram along with PCI video ram, is three (3) times slower than CSPPC ram.

You can have all the conspiracy theories you want, but that doesn't make them true.
