Hello
Could anyone who's been to the os4 tour today put up some screenshots and/or info when they get home??
cheers :)
-
Still four hours to go untill the show's over :). I'd really be interested in how many folks where there. My bet is 100 tops, prolly more like 50.
-
Hopefully more than 100!
I sure hope the software is released soon.
-
I think the reason for the tour is because the software isn't going to be released soon. Something to keep the restless natives at bay, so to speak.
I reckon OS4 will be released at the same time as Tomb Raider 6 [another significantly delayed product]:-)
-
Does this show go for 8 hours? Wow, thats like long. Most of the time would be just talking to people right? Cause, its not really a show is it? Just a place to see the OS. I mean a show to me would be heaps of exhibitors and stuff :)...
It just seems like a usergroup has set it up at their HQ and are showing it off there... Its very surprising that it goes for 8 hours....
Damn i hope those people can get home soon... I cant believe no one set up a laptop there connected to the net, constantly uploading pictures, or at least a webcam :}

So, it'll be out at the end of this month...... apparently :-P
-
@ Vincent
Yep, and the end of last month, and the month before, and the month before that :-)
Ok, maybe I'm being a teensy bit cynical.

Well. Sadly I have no digi cam. :-(
So no pictures from me. But i'm sure there gonna be plenty of pics on D.A.D. (http://www.amiga-klub.si/aot2003report.php?lang=en)
As for the big surprise, did I miss something?
I was surprised to see there's a slovenian version of 4.0...
That's all still no 4.0 on amigaone.
Any questions?
:-P

I think you may have done - there was a "big surprise" mentioned in the "OS4 Tour Starts" news item. If it was as big as suggested, I'm surprised you missed it. Oh well, it will be revealed by somebody else no doubt.

@mikeymike
I'm saying it'll come out about the same time as Duke Nukem Forever. 8)

was any of the official Amiga Inc. guys there?
or was it just hyperion and eyetech?

/edit
Apparently there were no Hyperion people present...
-
I was there too!
There were 2 people from Point design!
No one from Hyperion.
OS4 looks good!
The big surprise is NEW Font rendering engine!
There are new stuff in prefs like AmigaInput
that handles various Joypads and stuff, there is
GUI wich replaced VisualPrefs/MagicMenu and other hacks for good looking OS
(It can read VisualPrefs settings)
My floppy was melted because of very hot weather
and no parking in the shade, so No screenshots from me, but you will see them on http://os.amiga.com
I think.
But there will be some pictures in 640x480 shot
with DigitalCamera!
I'm tired from travelling!
@DEXXO I was guy with blue NikeT-shirt!

Wooooaahh!
See you people in Udine, Italy 5.July.2003. on
Amiga Alpe Adria 2003.
-
Man! those screenies look very pretty. I dare say that even windows XP has some catching up to do in the GUI dept!
-
I agree that XP has catching up to do.
With OSX maybe... with Workbench... don't make me laugh.
Workbench is an improvement but as it standard is gray and dull. No 'shock visual change' like XP or OSX.
future releases or custom designed skins may help, however.
But to be honest, some aspects of the layout and the inclusion of additional gadgets needs to be addressed first..
Or just more user-intuitive usage of the ones they have..
-
@Ponos2D
That A1 you`re using, is that run Debian Linux or OS4?
-
nice. esp. since it was advertized on the website.
-
It was Debian Linux :-(
We just have to wait a little more :-(
Waiting 4 Amiga Alpe Adria 2003 in Udine, Italy!
See me there! :-D
