Title: 1200 HD Failing - help please !!
Post by: rja4096 on February 12, 2007, 10:41:45 PM: Hi I've just got an A1200 with HD. The first time I switched it on the Hard disk booted and worked fine. Since then every time I switch on I can hear the HD clicking and trying to boot for a few seconds, then I have to boot from a floppy. The HD worked one more time, and now I need to use floppy again.

Anyone know if there is a simple thing I can do to fix the hard disk???

Post by: amigakit on February 12, 2007, 10:48:18 PM: Welcome- backup your data immediately. The drive sounds like it is failing and it will need replacing.

An used notebook hd is unexpensive (=<5 Gb) and will do the trick.;-)

- My knowledge of Amiga stopped in 1992 when I sold my a500.

Post by: amigakit on February 12, 2007, 10:56:54 PM: All our 2.5" drives come with full fitting instructions- we have a few small 170mb drives too if you want something small and cheap.

Can you see the hd in WB?
