Hi I've just got an A1200 with HD. The first time I switched it on the Hard disk booted and worked fine. Since then every time I switch on I can hear the HD clicking and trying to boot for a few seconds, then I have to boot from a floppy. The HD worked one more time, and now I need to use floppy again.
Anyone know if there is a simple thing I can do to fix the hard disk???
Please let me know, Thanks, Rick.

Welcome- backup your data immediately. The drive sounds like it is failing and it will need replacing.
Use this adapter to backup:

Backup this old HD in a hurry! Buy a new (almost) one. Put the data back in.:-o
An used notebook hd is unexpensive (=<5 Gb) and will do the trick.;-)

OK, thanks for quick replys, but I know absolutly nothing about how to put a new HD in, would you guys be able to advise me how??
- My knowledge of Amiga stopped in 1992 when I sold my a500.
Would love to get going again, Thanks Rick.

All our 2.5" drives come with full fitting instructions- we have a few small 170mb drives too if you want something small and cheap.

How much for the 170mb? I can only see bigger HDs on the website.
Thanks, Rick.

Theres a super tutorial at this website
How To Install HD in A1200 (http://www.cdv.co.nz/support/amiga/001/)

We have a few we can sell around £10

Have you tried soft rebooting your amiga? Does still not boot?
Can you see the hd in WB?

Or buy an used one from e-bay! They are very cheap and you have a lot of space, instead <200Mb (looks too small for me). Sorry, Amikit.
