does this thing need its own power supply, or does it leech off the A500 ?
-
You mean the GVP Impact II Series ?
I also have one of them on my main A 500
Yes it needs a power-supply and you have to power on the GVP before the AMIGA.
Hope this helps
-
dang..there's on on ebay but no PSU...can you use a universal power supply with it?
-
AFAIK you need the original psu.
but if you get the Voltages and the Pin-Layout
you can build one yourself...
-
If it is like the roctec i have it needs its own supply. :-)
-
thanks for the help guys! I cancelled my bid. No use buying something and then not being able to use it because it needs its own PSU.
-
i have a spare a1200 supply :-)
-
?
the A1200 psu will not work on a GVP hard drive, correct? I have a few A500 psu's..but the A530 uses its own type of connector right?
-
Oops sorry..
just trying to help :-)
I know some external drives use CBM supplies
Kev :-)
-
no problem :-) just dont do that again or you'll be banned. (just kidding! ) :-)
-
Hehehe oops please dont ban me :-(
-
LOL, no I wont..just playing with ya!
the quest goes on then.. need to find a A500 hard drive, or a A2000 system so I can buy a hard drive card, or a A3000 w/hd...
-
yeah man i was joking too...
i was a complete moron about 4 years ago i binned a working a2000 as the monitor was knackered and i coulnt get it to work. What a fool :-( it had loads a ram, and a PC card, 800mb HDD and a 500mb amiga drive. What a wolly. COMPLETE wolly.

My A4000D Video toaster system sale (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2728420660&ssPageName=ADME:B:EOAS:US:3)
-
its back on ebay..he's selling that system. (it looks like the same one)
-
that guy had closed the auction 2 hours after it was posted on may 7, then he took till the 13th of may to pay, then I made the mistake of mis calculating the shipping, I charged him $70.00 when the shipping came to $145.00 (just goes to show you cant do everything by computer) after I spent an additional 75.00 to ship it he said the the monitors came broken, and that he can not leave me positive feedback untill I re-emburse him for the monitors. the title of the auction was for the Amiga 4000D video toaster, I added the monitors in the auction as a throw in, anyway, the system and the monitors was packaged by a professional packing company and shipped via UPS to canada from NYC, USA, but yet I should have to feel responsable for the damage to the monitors, dont worry, I made sure your system got packaged and was on the truck safly,
I just told you that little bit becuase I want you to watch out, it seems like he is demanding monitary damages in return for good feedback.
I checked with ebay, they say I am not at fault, and that I had the option to report him, but the feedback is not all that much important to me (I dont scare easy, nor am I a dumb-ass).
ok ok getting the shipping cost was pretty dumb I admit it, but hay it as the first time I had used the online shipping calculator, will never use it again, nor will I ever ship international again!!
