Hi everyone. I've been making a few Amiga game reviews on YouTube and so far I have two up. I just wanted to share with the community what I have so far and hope to get some positive feedback.
Anyways, here are the two I have so far.
Nitro - Amiga500
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d3K9lTmELiM
Speedball 2 - Amiga500
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wAK0OfB2P1o
I'm going to be making more in the near future as soon as I can find more time. Anyways, I hope you enjoy them and let me know what you think. :)

Well done, they're cool.
I luv both those games and your reviews are really good.
Be careful though Amiga Inc are touchy who uses their logo.
Nitro is fun and Speedball more so. Though my Amiga buddy used to always whip me in that game...
The speedball porting issues section is funny stuff.
Ice Cream Rocks and Steve Rocks more than his wife !
Luv the accent...Theres something about saying "sux!" and "Rocks" that doubles the impact when its in a North American accent.
Keep up the retro suport of the Amiga.!!
Amiga is the "Clint Eastwood" of the computer world. Clint's not dead yet is he !... Is he ?
Ohh yeah welcome to Amiga Org, hope to see more of you....and BTW "Steve Rocks!!!" 8-)
-
Well said... :) And thanks so much for checking it out. I'm very excited to hear from my fellow Amiga brothers.
I heard that Amiga Inc is very touchy when it comes to their logo but I just had to sneak it in there somewhere.
Once I get the chance, I'm going to create my own music and logos so everything is made by me and I shouldn't run across issues in the future... :)
There are more to come soon... Once I deal with real life issues, that is.. :P
Once again, thanks so much for checking them out....
Oh... and Clint is still alive and kicking. That is one man whose been around for a long time. Come to think of it, I believe he is among the last of his kind.
-
They were pretty good.. Hope you make some more.
-
thats a very nice job you have done there, please make more of those :-P
-
There is much more to come....
Oh... BTW... Did anyone find the easter egg I put at the end of my video?
Morse Code...
-
Those were really cool. You have a talent for this and I'm looking forward to checking out any future reviews you might have up your sleeve. Heard the beeps, but had too many beers to analyze them ATM
-
Thanks again everyone. I'm going to try and get another one on YouTube this week I hope. Thanks so much for watching..
-
Good job but I hear sound of your voice like it was speed up a little bit.
-
Well.. the speed-talk was suppose to be a joke... but thats ok because I have something new for everyone...
My next review... "Wrath Of The Demon"
I so hate the first level of this game... but what a great piece of art.. :) Good music too..
-
nice, more reviews please :)
PS: I think you forgot to mention that the ball gets red hot when it hits a ball-like thing in the wall and all the opponents get stunned when they come in contact with it. It was my favorite way to score ;) (or not? gotta see again that review :))

That is one thing I've learned about making video reviews. Sometimes there are things (like some game features) that don't get covered. There are a bunch of things that I didn't get the chance to touch in the Nitro review as well.
The ball charger was an excellent element that the Bitmap Brothers added to Speedball 2. I also liked the idea that if you tackled an opponent that charged the ball already you could use the ball as if you charged it yourself.
Thanks for watching... I'm working on another review and hope to have it up in a few days if real-life issues don't get in the way... :)
-
LOL..."Fat Hippy"...Brilliant!
:-)
-
Great! I'm hoping for more reviews. :-D
-
Great reviews, keep up the good work :-D
-
I ran across a horrible guru error... but thats ok... I was aiming at posting the video today but wasn't expecting I had a bad disk. I got online and downloaded other disks but they all have the same problem...
[edited] - I'll post it anyways... I'll do better on my next review... I'll upload it now...
-
This is the worse review ever.. but it is a little bit funny... Sorry that I couldn't provide but I ran across way too many issues and didn't have much time to do anything about it.
Don't worry, I won't make another crappy review like this again.
Anyways, here it is...

I just uploaded it, so give it a few mins.. thanks..

Hi there,
I've enjoyed watching your videos. You did a fine job. I hope to see more in the future.
It would be nice to see videos of how your machine is set up and all.

I just want to add to all the other endorsements you've been receiving here. This reviews are EXCELLENT. Enjoyable to watch, funny, professional and most of all it makes me want to get out the A1200, log in to EBay and start playing! I love this, keep them coming. You could make quite a nice for yourself!

Thank you so much, everyone. I really enjoy making these game reviews. How it all started was that I was going to do game reviews of C64 games that were good, but wasn't popular. My goal was to introduce games that I enjoyed and hope to inspire others to give them a try.
But there was one major problem with that, the software that I use to record wouldn't work well on C64 emulators.
Since the Amiga is tied in my heart with the C64 as best computer ever, I tested the software on that and it worked perfectly (well almost but good enough). So I came up with a new goal. Introduce Amiga gaming to non Amiga gamers and hopefully introduce great games to Amiga gamers who may have missed out on some of these great games.
However, word of my game reviews have spread across other game communities (like the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, NES, Atari, etc...) and my e-mail has been flooded by requests to do other systems as well.
I do have plans to do reviews of games for other systems but not yet. I want to do a few more Amiga game reviews and then take a break to do other systems. Then I'll come back to the Amiga and do some more.
I have no plans to leave the Amiga completely because I will always come back to that system since a lot of my fav. games reside there. :) Plus, the Amiga is still the ultimate computer in my opinion.
It is a real pleasure to revisit this games. I remember when I first got my Amiga 500 back in the late 80's. When I wasn't using that computer, I was dreaming about it. In my small town I was able to convince many of my friends to sell their game consoles and buy an Amiga (and a lot of them did).
Maybe sometime in the future (when I get a good video camera) I would love to do a video of my personal experience with the Amiga and how I keep coming back to it. This may not gain much interest with others but it would be a fun project to try.
Anyways, I have a lot of things I'm currently planning and I have the means to make these plans possible. I'm very excited to get to them as soon as possible.
My next review will be of Turrican 2. I hope to have it up by next week since it is still in the planing stage.
Thank you so much for watching... I'll keep you updated when I have more available. :)

(I tried to comment on youtube, but it didn't let me log in ?!)
Nice reviews and amusing.
I would prefer you uploaded in google video, since it allow us to download the video in the origonal resolution (not the "flashed" low resolution version we see on the browser)
Anyway, thanks
-
Those were amusing reviews, well produced!
I think I want to get a copy of Nitro, now that I've seen your cool review.
-
Mmmmmmust have moooore re vieeews....
Oh a preview... Gimme gimme gimme

Great... but don't lose the wackyness of the first ones as you continue... that's what makes it worth watching. ;)
-
Yeah... I sort of tried too hard and I over did the Bruce Campbell gimmick. Another thing is that I have such an emotional attachment with this game so I sort of kept the jokes short.
Nevertheless, I got lots of wise-cracks in store for the future... :)
Thanks for watching.. :)
-
I have already watched the videos from Speedball II and Turrican II. They are great, thank you for your work. In both Videos very good music and especially the Turrican review is awesome.
Thank you.
-
Thanks you guys... I'm so sorry that I'm not able to pop in everyday to respond (I hate work) but thank you so very much for checking me out.
I'm currently working on "Shadow Of The Beast II"
I hope you guys like it...
Thanks so much.. it really means a lot to me.. :)

We do, we do. These are my most favourite videos on YouTube. Keep them coming! :)
-
Wow.. it's been over three months now..
I've been dealing with a lot of issues in the real world for a long time but I'm going to get back to this soon. I've been having requests to do reviews of C64 and PC games which I will get to.
Anyways, thanks so much for watching and I hope to have something good for everyone soon..
:)
