Use the Samba services. Check /etc/samba.conf or /etc/smb.conf for settings. Ensure the two Samba daemons are running. Samba allows Linux to become a File/Print server for Windows clients. If you want a DNS server, then that's something different.

It helps to make sure Samba is installed, too.

I've had lots of experience with samba being members of windows networks, but looks like making a windows domain controller with samba is quite scary... however, the article I've linked to is from 1998.
Good luck.

Although I don't understand why you ask this on an amiga related site here is a reference: Samba-TNG (http://www.samba-tng.org/) is a project that tries to extend the samba suite with the possibility to run as a domain controller.

Although I don't understand why you ask this on an amiga related site
Im guessing the following;
a> because there is a forum link for alternative o/s
b> because there are some bright linux-minded people posting here . on Wayne's wonderful site
c> because you're more likely to get intelligent response instead of . scorn and laughter to your questions
d> amigaone's and pegasos's have linux also
just my 2 cents for whatever its worth

linux is a part of Amiga now.. you get a linux copywith AmigaONE so.. And Linux is pretty much the only OS it currently run ;-) So i cant see anything wrong with asking linux related questions..
But to reply to the question... i dont think domain controller is very good idea to run under linux.. Though a simple samba fileserver works great. If you need a windows domain controller, you better use WinNT or 2k :\

And i must say... Not many people in those linux help chans/forums is very friendly when you ask some question.. Not in my experience atleast... Most of them seems to be kids who like to call themself l337.......
