I only know of it as a piece of software from the early Amiga days.  It was used to catch some gurus before they trashed the system so that you could kill the offending program before it killed you.  I don't think it worked in OS 3.0 so I stopped using it.

Well, it's for KS 1.x which always gurued "unrecoverably" (red guru), and the system rebooted.

KS 2.x added recoverable alerts (amber), so this program was pretty much is obsoleted.

There are some other nice tools for KS 2.0+ though, such as SmartCrash (http://www.iki.fi/sintonen/sw/SmartCrash.lha).

GOMF or "Get out of my face" is a combination of software and hardware to help cope with the number of Guru Meditations that occurred with early versions of Amiga OS 1.3 (and badly written applications software).

It did not stop the Guru happening but would stop the Amiga from otherwise crashing.  I still have the hardware/software installed in one of my A2000's.  I would provide more info, but I am travelling away from home at the moment.

Note: GOMF may have been "Get Outta My Face"?  i.e the Guru

The most fresh versions of MCP also have a patch called NOGURU.

It catches some red gurus and turn it to amber ones. Works even on A1s!

I could not tell you more ATM. I'm a betatester. Wait for a new version maybe in march/2007.

hi all, I had the Gomf hardware when I had my first 1000 it cost me a small fortune at the time. The Gomf hardware had a type of reset button if I recall and it did a good job of keeping the 1000 from crashing with the buggy kickstart and other errant software,it brings back a few memories of when I was single and wealthy now I,m married and poor:-)
