I was very briefly, only went to one meet when Ben Vost was present, I thinnk it may had been one of the last meets although I could be wrong.
It's a shame that SWAG is no more.

Lets talk dates peoples, how are most of us fixed up, for dates towards the end of march?

Depending on the area of interest, we could either go to cribbs causeway, if there is mostly english amigans who would like to meet up, or moere towards smansea if the s.waleians tougt up more support.

Maybe even run to venues???? All up to you gang!!!  :nervous:

Warning: completely off topic!

The title of this thread reminds me of the "Made In Wales" TV adverts that were shown in the 1980s, and the funny version by the Not The Nine O'Clock News team called "Made Of Whales" !!!

Sorry! Normal thread operation will now resume!

Hehe, so you two will know More Music, Revenge Records and Rowlands Ex & Mart where I built up my enormous music collection!

I swapped my first electric guitar in More Music for a VCR.  It's dead now, but it gave good service for a couple of years!

Also that kinda grubby second hand shop on a side street which used to have all sorts of interesting electronic and photographic gear, then went the way of cheap videos when DVD came in.  I think it's closed down now!

Changing the subject ever so slight (or that probaby should be "sorry, off topic") - is there Welsh language support available for the Amiga? This would be a lovely thing to see. And Cornish too?
Title: Re: Amigas in wales
Post by: Hyperspeed on February 09, 2007, 01:08:10 AM
I'm sure I heard of work on Windows support for Welsh. I know that Israel had (or at least threatened) to boycott Windows due to lack of support for hebrew.

There was an episode of the Simpsons where Lisa protested in favour of Cornish independance but no real support for any Celtic/Gaelic languages in most OSes...

... strange as Oxford offer a degree in Celtic language and culture.
Title: Re: Amigas in wales
Post by: dandelion on February 09, 2007, 09:01:59 PM
Windows must SURELY offer support for Welsh! Pretty poor state of affairs if not. I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek with my Cornish locale support question but it would be nice to see! I remember the Simpsons episode where Matt Groening took up the cause of the Cornish, it was the alternative Queen's speech as I remember it. Exeter University also offer a Cornish Studies degree.
Title: Re: Amigas in wales
Post by: Hyperspeed on February 16, 2007, 11:25:35 PM
I can't remember how many languages there are in the world. I think there's 240 countries, 4000 languages and 32,000 variations or something - the Celtic languages combined must have at least a million speakers (600,000 people speak Welsh both in Wales and Patagonia,Argentina).

I suppose it's up to the last remaining Amiga users of those languages to be the gospel.

A cross-platform language library would be cool though, like javascript or that plugin dictionary some text editors use.

EDIT:
So when/where are you guys meeting?
