Thank you for your interest.

I was wondering if I could get a few volunteers to try something for me. This is my first time using calculated shipping cost. Naturally, I cannot see this from outside my own point of view. Could I get some sample postings of the cost you're seeing and what part of the country you're in? Outside the US is welcome also. In fact, I'm more curious about that since it may not even work.
Thank you.

I only see USA + a postal code box as a choice in the precalculated shipping options.
-
Agree - can't see any options either :(
-
Calculated shipping cost to Cincinnati, Ohio is showing up as $14.19 via UPS Ground.
-
Thank you for the assistance, folks. I take that to mean that I need to review the shipping options for international customers. Any suggestions on this? I could do a flat fee but that may not be fair. Perhaps the problem is just UPS. I thought they shipped everywhere. Maybe not. I will try switching to USPS.

A common misconception for americans is that America is the ONLY civilised country on the planet with the new fangled idea of electricity.
A *MAJOR* portion of Amiga's userbase reside in the UK and european countries, a fair number in Australia and scatterings of other users in Other countries.
Some of us have *DEEP* pockets too.

I agree, I was once asked (in Redmond) "belgium.. in what state is that ?" sigh... and I was punished in school for not knowing all major rivers in Belgium...
Nothing personal - don't get me wrong...
anyhow, I can only see US as destination

Did you forget just one, or all 2 rivers?
(Schelde and Maas, are there any more major rivers at all?)

Are you turning my post for help as an insult to you? If so, I think you're sadly mistaken and totally misinterpreted my intent. Please have some something to be provoked about before posting this type of remark.

Why are you apologising? - I see it that you did nothing wrong. I only put UK when I post eBay - if someone somewhere else wants shipping cost then they ask me - seems simple enough.....

Some common problems amongst Australians are mindless anti-Americanism and the unthinking perpetuation of stupid myths - such as "Americans think that America is the only civilised country on the planet".
Deep pockets or not, plenty of them have a big complex when it comes to the only global superpower.

If you're going to ship internationally, UPS should be avoided like the plague. They charge completely insane brokerage fees.

I agree. I switched to US Postal the very next day. Sadly, eBay's calculator isn't working outside the US so I'm providing estimates on an individual basis.

So a gentleman from France won the auction but hasn't been too good about answering several of my emails. A necessary part of the shipping label generation involves the inclusion of a phone number. I cannot proceed without it. I found one instance in the invoice report where a ten digit number was listed under his address. The first three digits begin with 013. Can anyone tell me if this could be part of a valid telephone number for Saint Germain en Laye, Yvelines, France?
Strangely, this winning bidder was able to send me TWO invoice requests before I was forced to pick a shipping method for him (again, he never responded to my direct emails) as well as making the PayPal payment. Without a valid phone, however, I am stuck. I do not want to just make something up as it may be necessary to reach him. My only other option is to refund his payment. That might get his attention.
Thanks in advance for the help.
